  • The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are 14.5-point home favorites over the #20 Kentucky Wildcats in their college football game on Saturday, October 7
  • Georgia is 13-0 SU in the past 13 games against SEC rival Kentucky
  • Kentucky’s last outright win over the Bulldogs was in 2009. But the Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in the last four games against Georgia

As they prepare yet again to face the #1 Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 0-4-1 ATS) in SEC competition, the #20 Kentucky Wildcats (5-0, 4-1 ATS) are probably growing tired of all of the always a bridesmaid, never a bride references in terms of this rivalry.

The question is, are the Wildcats capable of doing anything to change that narrative? Georgia is the beast of the SEC East and Kentucky is the other good team in the division. That’s the way it’s been for as long as anyone can remember.

And no one appears to be expecting that change is on the horizon. Georgia is set as 14.5-point home favorites in the latest renewal of his rivalry. Kentucky is 4-10 ATS in the last 14 road games against the Bulldogs.

Let’s go a little deeper into the Kentucky vs Georgia odds and offer you our prediction for this Week 6 college football game.

Last year, Georgia beat Kentucky 16-6, but failed to cover on the road as the 22.5-point chalk. However, the Wildcats are just 1-10 SU in their last 11 games facing ranked teams.

Kickoff for this game at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, October 7 is set for 7:00 pm ET. The broadcast is being carried by ESPN.

Wildcats vs Bulldogs Betting Splits

In the college football public betting splits, people are sold on the Wildcats maintaining their run of covers against the Bulldogs. Kentucky is pulling 70% of handle and 67% of bets as the 14.5-point road underdog. Georgia is 2-7-1 ATS over the past 10 games. There’s no splits available on the moneyline.

As for the total of 47.5 point, it’s drawing divided attention. The handle is leaning toward the over at 54%. Meanwhile bets are going down 57% in favor over the under. The last four Georgia vs Kentucky games all went under.

Top-ranked Georgia is the betting chalk in the National Championship odds at +300. Kentucky is given a line of +15000 in this betting market.

Bulldogs Getting Job Done

Georgia isn’t wowing anybody to this stage of the season, but the Bulldogs are still finding ways to win. That being said, Georgia is also finding ways to allow lesser teams to hang around.

Two Bulldogs turnovers aided Auburn’s cause during Georgia’s 27-20 road victory last week. TE Brock Bowers continues to be the story offensively for the Bulldogs. He caught eight passes for 157 yards and a TD in the win over the Tigers.

Defensively, Georgia remains stout. The Bulldogs are #16 in the nation in total defense (287.2 yards per game), and #1 in the SEC and #14 in the nation in scoring defense (13.0 points per game). With the ball, Georgia is #12 in FBS in total offense (496.5 YPG).

Wildcats Run Over Gators

The Wildcats literally ran through Florida last week. In a 33-14 victory, Kentucky piled up 329 yards on the ground. Leading the way with 280 rushing yards was RB Re’Mahn Davis.

Kentucky’s defense is solid. The Wildcats sit tied for 19th in the nation in total defense, allowing 297.2 YPG. But can they throw the ball well enough to win? QB Devin Leary was just 9-of-19 through the air in the win over the Gators.

Kentucky vs Georgia Prediction

Do the math and the equation just never works out for Kentucky. The Wildcats have lost 13 in a row to Georgia, and 24 of the last 26. Overall, the edge in the series for the Bulldogs is 62-12-2.

Kentucky hasn’t scored as many as 20 points on the Bulldogs since 2016. And the Wildcats have given up more than 20 points in each of the past five visits to Georgia.

Still, Kentucky has covered against Georgia four years in a row and this year, just about every team is covering against Georgia.

Kentucky vs Georgia Pick: Kentucky +14.5 (-110)
