The weather forecast calls for mostly cloudy, 59 degrees at kickoff with a low of 50 and calm wind.

Hawaii Betting Outlook

Hawaii is struggling on both sides of the ball during former star quarterback Timmy Chang’s first season as coach at his alma mater.

The Rainbow Warriors are 125th of 131 FBS schools in scoring offense (18.3) and 121st in total offense (323.4). They are also 124th in scoring defense (33.7) and 116th in total defense (436.0).

Quarterback Brayden Schager has completed 56.6% of his 242 passes this season for 1,406 yards. He has six touchdown passes and six interceptions.

In last week’s loss to Wyoming, Schrager was 23-of-45 passing for 205 yards with two touchdowns. Hawaii took a 10-0 lead in the second quarter but couldn’t hold on as it allowed Wyoming to rush for 365 yards.

Tylan Hines had a big day receiving with 11 catches for 103 yards. However, top running back Dedrik Parson was limited to 29 yards on 12 carries.

Parson has 572 yards this season and 10 touchdowns in 132 attempts. Zion Bowers has 20 receptions for 270 yards and three touchdowns and Dior Scott has a team-leading 25 catches for 204 yards.

Schrager is second in the conference in passing yards and Parson is second in rushing touchdowns.

Fresno State Betting Outlook

Jake Haener returned to action last week after missing four games with a sprained ankle and threw three touchdown passes against San Diego State.

The last of those TD throws was a 37-yarder to Nikko Remigio with 56 seconds left to win the game. Haener was 34 of 45 for 394 yards while being intercepted twice as he rallied the Bulldogs from a 28-10 third-quarter deficit.

Haener has a 72.7% completion rate on his 150 attempts this season for 1,248 yards with seven TDs and three picks. Despite missing a month, he is fourth in the Mountain West in both passing yards and touchdowns.

Remigio had two of the touchdowns against San Diego State as he finished with 10 receptions for 126 yards. Zane Pope had 10 catches for 143 yards and one score.

Jalen Moreno-Cropper is Fresno State’s top receiver with 50 catches for 561 yards, which ranks third in the conference, and one touchdown. Remigio has totaled 483 yards and three TDs on 43 receptions.

Jordan Mims has a team-high 677 rushing yards and eight scores on 142 carries. Despite being held to 32 yards last week, he is the fourth-leading rusher in the MWC.

Hawaii vs Fresno State Prediction

Fresno State holds a slight 20-19 edge in the all-time series, but Hawaii has won the last two meetings. Last year, the Rainbow Warriors upset the then-#18 Bulldogs 27-24 in Honolulu as Haener had 388 yards and three touchdowns but also threw four interceptions.

Fresno State has the revenge angle at work, but this is too big of a number to have to cover.

Pick: Hawaii +27.5 (-110)
