Penn State vs Michigan Early Odds & Prediction

Two Big Ten unbeatens clash in Ann Arbor on Saturday when Michigan (6-0) hosts Penn State (5-0). The Wolverines have opened as 7.5-point favorites.

Michigan overcame a sluggish start Saturday to beat Indiana 31-10 on the road. The Wolverines did not go ahead for good until Cornelius Johnson caught a 29-yar touchdown pass from J.J. McCarthy midway through the third quarter.

McCarthy completed 28 of 36 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Michigan is 6-0 for the second straight season, the first time the Wolverines have done that since 1976 and 1977.

Penn State was off this weekend after beating Northwestern 17-7 on Oct. 1.

The Nittany Lions are a surprising 5-0 but their perfect season will end in Big House as Michigan not only wins but covers.

Pick: Michigan -7.5 (-110)

Alabama vs Tennessee Early Odds & Prediction

In another matchup of teams with perfect records on Saturday, Alabama (6-0) will visit Tennessee (5-0) in the SEC. The opening odds show Alabama is a 7.5-point favorite.

Alabama slipped from the top spot of the AP poll Saturday, a day after struggling to beat Texas A&M 24-20 at home. The Crimson Tide needed a goal-line stand to win the game with Texas A&M throwing an incomplete pass at the 2-yard line as time expired.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young sat out with a sore shoulder. Jalen Milroe made his first career start at QB, passing for 111 yards and three touchdowns and running for 183 yards but also throwing an interception and losing two fumbles.

Hendon Hooker passed for two touchdowns and Jabari Small ran for 127 yards and two scores to lead Tennessee to a 40-13 rout of LSU on the road.

Hooker finished with 239 yards passing and both his touchdown throws went to Jalin Hyatt, covering 40 and 14 yards. Bru McCoy had seven receptions for 140 yards for the Volunteers.

With Young’s status up in the air, this is a hard game to pick, but look for Milroe to show improvement in his second start if he is needed.

Pick: Alabama -7.5 (-110)

Kansas vs Oklahoma Point Spread Is Outta Line

Oklahoma has opened as a 7.5-point favorite over Kansas and that is a real headscratcher.

Yes, Kansas (5-1) lost its first game of the season Saturday, falling 38-31 to TCU at home. And, yes, quarterback Jalon Daniels left the game in the second quarter and never returned.

However, Oklahoma (3-3) has been walloped 49-0 by Texas and 55-24 by TCU the last two weeks. No way the Sooners should be a TD-plus favorite.
