Oregon is currently riding a three-game winning streak against the Bruins, including a 34-31 victory last October.

UCLA vs Oregon Preview

The Bruins might struggle in Eugene based on recent history, as they’ve lost seven consecutive games at Oregon. But, Chip Kelly’s group is coming off a statement win over the Utes, keeping their unbeaten season alive at 6-0, which moved them up to #9 in the AP Top 25 poll.

Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was phenomenal against Utah, completing 18 of 23 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns, linking up with wideout Jake Bobo on two occasions in the end zone. Thompson-Robinson boasts a mind-boggling 74.9 completion percentage and will be a handful for the Ducks.

The run game was also elite as Zach Charbonnet cooked the Utes defense with 198 yards on the ground and nine yards per carry, including one score. UCLA now ranks 12th in the nation in points with 41.5 per outing and 10th in third down conversion percentage, which is an extremely important statistic. History isn’t on the Bruins’ side, but this current group has what it takes to grab an integral road victory.

After being humbled by the defending CFB champions Georgia in Week 1 by a score of 49-3, Oregon has looked solid. they’ve collected wins over BYU, Washington State, and Stanford, among others, but UCLA will be their toughest test since the Bulldogs.

Signal-caller Bo Nix balled out in Week 6, throwing for 265 yards and completing 20 of 25 throws against Arizona as he continued his impressive campaign. Five different receivers had at least three catches, but it was the run game that proved to be deadly. Noah Whittington tore apart the Wildcats for an average of 15 .3 yards on just six carries while Nix, a true dual-threat QB, also rushed for 70 yards.

Nix will have a much more difficult time mustering up offense downfield though as UCLA boasts a stout secondary. The Ducks just moved up to #10 in the AP Top 25 on Sunday after previously being ranked at #11.

UCLA vs Oregon Prediction

Sure UCLA hasn’t performed well on the road against Oregon lately, but this is the first time since 2006 that the Bruins aren’t double-digit underdogs in this scenario. This UCLA team is built different and is 7-1 ATS in its past eight contests.

The last two games between UCLA and Oregon were decided by just three points in both. As previously mentioned, the Bruins are legit and have an electric offense. The Ducks are no pushover either, but their defense isn’t tremendous. I’m liking the visitors against the spread. Whether they end the losing streak in Eugene or just make it close, this is the best pick.

Pick: UCLA +6.5 (-112)
