It’s not often that we get Friday night NFL Football, but we have it this week, so that means one thing: gambling. It’s Week 1, so we have no idea who is who quite yet, which means we get to speculate. If we’re being honest, that’s my favorite thing to do, and at the end of the day, in a matchup like the Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers, speculation could be the only way to make some cash.
These rosters haven’t really turned over much, so everyone’s role could be what it was last season. That makes it hard for people like us to get ahead in the world, but if we dig deep enough, we should be able to find gold. Lucky for us, I already did some digging and found exactly that, gold. Feels good.

Najee Harris Could Ball Out
One of the new faces in Los Angeles is Najee Harris. We all know Najee from his days in Pittsburgh, so we know what he is. Great guy, powerful runner. He was brought in to shore up the running game in LA and it all looked like it was going according to plan until he had some sort of accident sometime around July 4. Nobody really knows what happened, but it wasn’t good.
In fact, it looked like he was going to miss some time, but then Adam Schefter dropped the tweet we were all looking to see.
Here’s the rub: Najee wasn’t the only running back brought in to do things. They drafted Omarion Hampton out of North Carolina in the first round of this year’s draft, so he’s going to be “the guy” at some point. Most people thought it would be right away, but why the hell would the Chargers want to run this guy into the ground? Greg Roman has always been a committee guy, and I don’t think that changed over the offseason. Najee is going to get some touches.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ defense is no joke when it comes to stopping the run. In fact, only two teams in the entire NFL allowed fewer rushing yards to running backs last season. In a weird way, I think that helps our bet since it further suppresses Najee’s number. With a 100% boost at Caesars, we’re able to get him at 24.5 rushing yards for +220. Even against a team like the Chiefs, that is way too low given the fact that I think he carries the ball 8+ times. Feels easy.
- The Pick: Najee Harris Over 24.5 Rushing Yards (+220) – Caesars (with 100% Boost)

Justin Herbert Has Wheels Too
We know the Chargers have a couple of brand new running backs for Greg Roman to deploy, but what if he ran Justin Herbert more? After all, Herbert has always had wheels; he just hasn’t always shown them off the way most guys do. It’s just how he rolls. Plus, he’s never really been with a coordinator like Roman, who is willing to run the quarterback all over the place.
And let’s not forget, the man had all kinds of lower-body injuries in his first full season with Roman. How was he even supposed to run?
We’ve heard Herbert talk about running more this season, but this just might be the matchup for him. We already talked about Kansas City being able to stuff the running backs, so if the Chargers want to move the ball on the ground, they’ll have to get creative. It makes sense for Herbert to take off since only six teams in the entire NFL allowed more rushing yards to quarterbacks last season than the Chiefs. All we need is a couple of scrambles, and we’re home on this thing. Feels easy.
- The Pick: Justin Herbert 20+ Rushing Yards (+158) – FanDuel
