With a win at home over the Indianapolis Colts, the Minnesota Vikings can clinch the NFC North crown.

On a lesser plane but of near importance, we are desperate for a win after eating a goose egg, fed to us by a competent Brock Purdy and a disgruntled Tom Brady.

This Saturday afternoon tilt (1pm ET, US Bank Stadium, live on NFL Network) is always a sign the regular season is nearing, so we’re going to need a monster run to even find our way back to the black.

Like Minny, look for us to lean on Justin Jefferson to make hay — never a bad decision.

Odds as of Dec 16 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Prop #1: Justin Jefferson Receiving Yards & Longest Reception

The Vikings’ stud receiver was a beast in a loss to the Lions, totaling 11 grabs for 223 yards. That put him up to 1,500 yards on the season, with four games to go. That’s tops in the NFL, as is his 25 receptions over 20+ yards.

Yes, Indy surrenders the third-fewest pass yards on the season, a paltry 188.6 yards per game, and have a still-sturdy Stephen Gilmore at corner to throw at the WR1. But the 23-year-old Jefferson is just too hot to ignore here.

He’s crossed his yards total seven times this season, and in three of his last five contests. He’s also been quite the big-play connection for Kirk Cousins, hauling in a pass of 28 yards or more eight different games on the year.

Look for him to carry the Vikings in this high-stakes affair.

Picks:

  • Jefferson longest reception OVER 27.5 yards (-120); 1 unit to win 0.83 units
  • Jefferson OVER 93.5 receiving yards (-130); 1.5 unit to win 1.16 units

Prop #2: Jonathan Taylor Rush Yards

Normally, I’d be more than confident the not-so-fleet-of-foot Matt Ryan and Cousins could each rush for three yards. Instead, we’ll take Indy’s star back to keep churning out yardage.

Jonathan Taylor may have only a pair of 100+ yard games in his 10 appearances this season, but he’s currently on his best stretch of the year.

The third-year back has rushed for at least 80+ yards in four straight games, including last week, when he ran 21 times for 82 yards against the Cowboys. He failed to find the endzone, breaking a three-game TD scoring streak.

Volume will matter here, as Taylor has carried at least 20 times in four straight, and will be an integral part of the Colts’ attack Saturday.

Pick:

  • Taylor OVER 81.5 rushing yards (-115); 1 unit to win 0.87 unit

Colts vs Vikings Touchdown Scorer Odds

Forget about Dalvin Cook’s poor performance against Detroit (15 rush, 23 yards), he did record his fifth TD in six games with the Vikings as the betting favorite. Jefferson has a major in four of his last five vs AFC opponents. Ditto Adam Thielen.

For the visitors, Taylor is the most likely visitors option here, as he’s found paydirt in three of Indy’s last four games.

Pick:

  • Jefferson ANYTIME TD scorer (-145); 1 unit to win 0.69 units
  • Week 14 Record: 0-5; Overall Record: 21-31, -9.64 units
