Cowboys Back to Being Favored in NFC East Odds After Victory Over Eagles
- Dallas Cowboys have reclaimed their perch as -160 favorites to win the NFC East
- Cowboys snapped a three-game SU slide with a decisive 37-10 victory over Philadelphia in Week 7
- With the loss, the Eagles have slipped to +140 second favorites to win the NFC East
The Dallas Cowboys put the brakes on a three-game SU losing streak in style on Sunday, routing the Philadelphia Eagles 37-10 as 3-point home chalk, and have been rewarded in NFL futures betting, where they have returned to the top of the odds to win the NFC East, as -160 favorites.

Roller Coaster Campaign for Cowboys
It has been a roller-coaster season for the Cowboys, who opened with a trio of decisive victories over inferior opponents, including the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and Miami Dolphins.
However, the team came crashing back to Earth in subsequent clashes with divisional leaders New Orleans and Green Bay, followed by last week’s stunning 24-22 upset loss to the previously winless New York Jets that left them trailing the Eagles as a +110 second-favorite on the NFL divisional odds entering Week 7.

The Cowboys rose to the occasion against Philadelphia, storming to a 27-7 halftime lead in what many observers considered a must-win October clash. The Dallas defense also proved extremely effective, holding the Eagles to just 283 total yards while forcing four turnovers, and limiting Philadelphia to just three total points from a pair of second-half drives into the Cowboys’ red zone.
Tough Schedule Awaits Cowboys Following Week 8 Bye
With the win, the Cowboys also improve to 3-0 SU against NFC East divisional rivals, and also hold a clear edge over the Eagles with a 3-2 SU record in conference play. However, the squad still has plenty of work to do if they are to successfully defend their NFC East title for the first time since 1996.

After enjoying a bye in Week 8, the Cowboys return to action with a four-game stretch that features three dates on the road, starting with a Week 9 matchup with the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
The Giants are coming off a disappointing 27-21 loss to Arizona on Sunday, extending their current SU slide to three games, dumping them to a lengthy +1400 bet in the NFC East odds.
Cowboys Must Solve Road Woes
The Cowboys have also posted five straight victories over New York, which also represents the easiest date on their schedule until a Week 17 matchup with the Washington Redskins. In between, Dallas will enjoy no rest, with their six subsequent opponents currently sporting a combined 25-12-1 record, including Minnesota, Detroit, New England, Buffalo, Chicago, and the Los Angeles Rams.

With five of their final contests coming on the road, the Cowboys must also find a way to be better away from AT&T Stadium, where they have lost outright in two of three games this season, all as betting chalk
And with five of their final contests coming on the road, the Cowboys must also find a way to be better away from AT&T Stadium, where they have lost outright in two of three games this season, all as betting chalk, and own a 4-8 SU record since the start of the 2018 NFL season.
Loss to Dallas Proves Costly for Eagles
The outlook is not much better for the Eagles, who have paid the price for Sunday night’s loss in the NFL futures, where they now sit second to Dallas as a +140 bet to win the NFC East after entering Week 7 as -120 favorites.

Now riding a two-game SU losing streak, the Eagles also face scheduling challenges in the second half, most notably between now and Thanksgiving, when they face the Bills, Bears, Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks. However, opportunity knocks for Philadelphia as the calendar turns to December, with consecutive matchups against the winless Dolphins, and the division rival Giants and Redskins.
Circle Week 16 Matchup on the Calendar
However, it is a Week 16 home date against the Cowboys that should be circled on the calendar. If the Eagles can stay healthy, and avoid disastrous results over the next four weeks, they are well-positioned to keep pace with Dallas in the NFC East race.

But it could come down to whether Philadelphia can end a 2-10 SU record in its past 12 home dates with the Cowboys, when they meet at Lincoln Financial Field on December 22, which will likely determine the playoff fate of these long-time rivals
