Week 3 of the NFL season continues with an NFC clash as the Dallas Cowboys (1-1) head to Chicago to face the Bears (0-2) on Sunday, September 21st. Soldier Field plays host at 4:25 pm ET on America’s Game of the Week on FOX.
I’ve made my Cowboys vs Bears pick, laid out the current DAL/CHI betting lines, and provided three key players to watch.
DAL Cowboys vs CHI Bears Pick
- Over 50 (-110 at Caesars)
Both Dallas and Chicago are coming off games that featured over 70 points scored. The Cowboys won a ridiculous overtime affair against the New York Giants (40-37), while the Bears took a 31-point beatdown at the hands of the Detroit Lions (52-21). Both teams have massive questions on their defenses as neither Matt Eberflus’ Dallas unit or Dennis Allen’s Chicago unit has looked particularly sharp.
On the offensive side, Week 2 was a huge week for receivers CeeDee Lamb and Rome Odunze. Lamb torched the Giants for 112 yards on nine catches while Odunze had a career-high 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Bears.
I’m expecting a high-scoring game with both teams scoring in the upper twenties or lower thirties.
Cowboys vs Bears Predictions
Another Big Game for Dak Prescott
Last week, Prescott fired 52 passes, completing 38 of them for 361 yards and two touchdowns. Even in Week 1, Prescott was firing on all cylinders, but Lamb dropped multiple key passes. Prescott could be in line for his 30th career 300-yard game.
The Bears have the dubious distinction of allowing both quarterbacks they have faced to win NFC Offensive Player of the Week. In Week 1, J.J. McCarthy accounted for three touchdowns in a comeback win. Last week, Jared Goff had a 334-yard, five-touchdown performance en route to 52 points.
Bounceback Game for Caleb Williams
Williams has been largely average so far in 2024. He has an 89.1 passer rating and a 67.2 PFF passing grade. Dallas offers a unique opportunity in a “get-right” spot for the former No.1 overall pick.
Both quarterbacks who faced Dallas have had excellent games. In Week 1, Jalen Hurts had an 88.6 PFF grade and 70.7 passing grade. In Week 2, Russell Wilson had an 88.2 PFF grade and an 85.6 passing grade. Wilson threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns.
Javonte Williams Continues Productive Start
Williams is averaging the highest yards per rush in his career at 4.6 yards per rush. He has scored in both games, including a pair of touchdowns in Week 1. Williams struggled particularly in 2023 and 2024, averaging 3.6 yards per carry with a 43% success rate.
The Bears have been clobbered on the ground to the tune of 5.3 yards per carry this season. Chicago has allowed 148.5 rushing yards per game including an uber-efficient 94 yards on 12 carries for Jahmyr Gibbs last week.
Cowboys vs Bears Betting Lines
The Cowboys are narrow road favorites in Chicago with the total at either 50 or 50.5. Over bettors should take Caesars’ line of over 50 at -110 odds. Under bettors should take BetMGM’s line of under 50.5 at -110 odds.
Dallas bettors can get the Cowboys on the spread at -1 on Caesars at -110 odds or -120 on the moneyline, also at Caesars. For Bears bettors, take Chicago on the spread at +1.5 at ESPN Bet (-110 odds) or +106 odds on the moneyline at FanDuel.

Cowboys vs Bears Recent Results
The Cowboys hold the lifetime record over the Bears, winning 16 of 28 matchups including two playoff wins. Dallas won the last matchup back in 2022 – a 20-point blowout win. Tony Pollard starred for the ‘Boys, scoring three touchdowns. Dak Prescott completed 21 of 27 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
While the Bears have experienced mass roster turnover in the last three seasons, Cole Kmet and Jaquan Brisker did have solid games against Dallas even in defeat. Kmet caught a touchdown while Brisker recorded nine tackles and a sack.
