  • The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints will get Week 13 of the 2021 NFL Season underway in New Orleans, LA, at 8:20 pm ET on Thursday, December 2, 2021
  • Both teams are coming off of Thanksgiving Day losses and will be looking to right the ship

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys (7-4) will invade New Orleans to take on the Saints (5-6) Thursday night. We can watch it all go down on FOX as kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 pm ET. Weather won’t be an issue because this one will be played inside Caesar’s Superdome.

The Cowboys are coming into this on after losing a thriller to the Las Vegas Raiders 36-33 on Thanksgiving day. New Orleans had a similar fate Thanksgiving night as they got their doors blown off 31-6 by the Buffalo Bills. It was so bad that starting quarterback, Trevor Siemian may have lost his starting job.

As of right now, the Dallas Cowboys are 4.5-point favorites but that could change with the announcement of the Saints quarterback. The total is resting at 48.5 but that could also change with injury news from both teams. Just like every other NFL game, there are plenty of player props to consider.

(Due to the Saints not committing to a starting quarterback and Alvin Kamara’s unknown status, some player props won’t be released until after publishing.)

Amari Cooper Is Back

The Dallas Cowboys definitely missed Amari Cooper while he was out two games with COVID-19. Both games were losses and Dallas only appeared to have a competent offense in one of the contests. Bettors could get nervous playing Cooper since coach Mike McCarthy says he wants to see Cooper run routes before he fully unleashes him Thursday night.

I don’t see a need to be nervous. You don’t forget how to run routes like this in less than two weeks.

One thing we have on our side is the fact that the Cowboys are entering must-win territory after losing two straight. We’re likely to get their best effort Thursday night. No letdowns. On top of that, the Saints are highly likely to be able to at least curb the Dallas rushing attack.

On the season, only two teams have given up fewer rushing yards than the New Orleans Saints. They have absolute animals upfront and they give people problems. It’s one reason why only four teams have given up more receiving yards to the wide receiver position than they have. Teams are forced into throwing the ball and it works.

I think McCarthy is playing a little rope-a-dope with us on Cooper. He’s acting like he’s on one leg when he’s in fact, Amari Cooper and he could get 47.5 receiving yards on one leg if he wanted to. Cooper has topped 47.5 receiving yards in five of his last six games and could easily get it on one play. This is a sneaky spot.

  • The Pick: Amari Cooper Over 47.5 Receiving Yards (-115) – Wager 1.15 units to win 1 unit
  • SBD 2021 NFL Player Props Record: 21-23, +0.4 Units

It’s Dalton Schulz Time

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. You have to have a touchdown scorer prop for prime-time games. Technically we need one for any game but for prime-time games it’s mandatory. Luckily for us, the books made it easy this week.

Once again, they’ve failed to recognize the greatness of Dalton Shultz.

Shultz didn’t have a great game on Thanksgiving Day but he did get into the end zone. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters. This week he’ll be getting a Saints team that has been decent at keeping the tight end out of the end zone up until last week.

Dawson Knox of the Buffalo Bills was able to get home twice in last Thursday’s beatdown which is troublesome. The Saints have a very good run defense as they’ve only given up four rushing touchdowns all season. Once the Cowboys get into the short part of the field, it’s likely they’ll look to punch it in through the air.

Shultz is a good candidate to be on the other end of a Dak Prescott touchdown pass Thursday.

  • Pick: Dalton Schultz Anytime TD Scorer (+190) – Wager 1 unit to win 1.9 units
  • SBD 2021 Touchdown Scorer prop record: 17-27, -1.04 units
