  • The Baltimore Ravens remain sportsbooks’ second betting choice to win Super Bowl 54
  • However, Baltimore’s odds dropped from +450 to +350 over the past week
  • The 9-2 Ravens have won their last three games by a combined margin of 135-26

Perhaps it’s time for the Baltimore Ravens to consider a change of nickname. Based upon their recent play, Baltimore Steamrollers might be an apter descriptive.

Lately, every team that stands in Baltimore’s way is getting flattened. That includes the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

On Monday Night Football, the Ravens destroyed the Los Angeles Rams 45-6. It was Baltimore’s seventh successive win, and third straight game in which the Ravens have scored at least 41 points. Over that same three-game span, the Baltimore defense has surrendered just 26 points.

Baltimore remains sportsbooks’ second betting choice to win Super Bowl 54 but the line on the 9-2 AFC North Division-leading Ravens is getting better all the time.

Their Super Bowl odds dropped from +450 to +350.

The 10-1 Patriots maintain their spot as the chalk but their odds have lengthened. New England jumped from +275 to +300 over the past day.

The Ravens are the only team to defeat the Patriots this season.

A November to Remember

It wasn’t just a perfect month for the Ravens. It was one for the NFL history books.

Baltimore went 4-0 in November. The Ravens opened by downing the previously-unbeaten Patriots 37-20. Then they whipped up on the winless Cincinnati Bengals 49-13.

A hyped showdown between opposing quarterbacks Lamar Jackson of the Ravens and Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans proved a dud when Baltimore rolled Houston 41-7. Then there was Monday’s 45-6 rout of the Rams.

How was it historic? Let’s count the ways.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Baltimore is the first NFL team to ever win back-to-back games against teams with winning records by margins of 34-plus points.

The Ravens, who closed out October with a 30-16 road victory at the 9-2 Seattle Seahawks, are the first team in NFL history to win four consecutive games against winning teams by a total margin of 90-plus points.

During the month, Baltimore beat both teams who played in Super Bowl 53 – the Patriots and the Rams – by an aggregate count of 82-26. The Ravens won their last three games by a combined margin of 135-26.

Baltimore scored six touchdowns on their first six drives on Monday, the first team to do that in a game since the 2008 New Orleans Saints.

Sunday Super Bowl Preview?

Baltimore will start off December against the 10-1 NFC-leading San Francisco 49ers. Could this be a preview of Super Bowl 54? The match will pit Baltimore’s #1 rushing offense (210.5 yards per game) against the #1 overall defense of the 49ers (248 ypg).

The Ravens have aced virtually every test so far. They are 5-1 against teams with winning records this season and 2-1 against division-leading squads.

They’ll be writing this exam on a short week. But San Fran hasn’t faced anything like the elusive double threat that is Jackson. Arizona rookie Kyler Murray, another mobile QB, gave the 49ers fits in two games earlier this season.

They may not have the NFL’s best record but right now the Ravens are the NFL’s best team. Their offense appears unstoppable, and after a slow start to the year their defense suddenly looks impenetrable.

You should have already bet Baltimore to win Super Bowl 54. If you haven’t, get in now before the odds shrink even further.

Pick: Baltimore Ravens (+350)
