  • The Philadelphia Eagles are 2.5-point road favorites over the LA Chargers on MNF
  • The Chargers have won four of their last five games
  • Keep reading for my Eagles vs Chargers picks and predictions, plus closing odds

Two teams in the thick of their respective conference playoff chases collide in Cali, as the Philadelphia Eagles (8-4, 7-5-0 ATS) visit the Los Angeles Chargers (8-4, 5-6-1 ATS).

Both teams have division-title dreams. For the Eagles, they’re trying to hold onto the NFC East, while the Chargers — home favorites in the Monday Night Football odds for this one — are trying to stay inside the Denver Broncos’ rearview mirror.

Kickoff is set for 8:15pm ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, with ABC and ESPN carrying the broadcast.

Eagles vs Chargers Picks & Prediction

  • Under 41.5 points (-105 at FanDuel)

They’re the defending Super Bowl champions and a respectable 8-4 on the season, but the Eagles are still trying to prove to everyone (and maybe even themselves) that they are the real deal.

They’ve dropped two in a row and their offense has hit the skids, averaging just 15.5 points per game over the last four.

That includes two straight losses, and the script has been the same: the offense hasn’t been able to do its part to land the plane, and the defense has cratered, as they’ve been outscored 24-6 in the fourth quarter loss to both the Cowboys and Bears.

The Chargers would love nothing more than Week 18’s season-ending tilt with Denver to be a battle for the AFC West crown, but LA has some work to do to get there, starting Monday against Philly.

If they can gain a game on the Broncos these last few weeks, they only need to finish with the same record, as they own the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The Chargers’ offense has been in a groove during this current 4-1 run, as they are averaging 30 points per game over those four wins, including last week’s 31-14 thrashing of the Raiders.

However, the most important cog to that machine, QB Justin Herbert, will be playing with a broken left hand, so maybe the Chargers work to protect him more and go a little more conservative.

Defensively, LA is not exactly the right opponent for Philly to awaken its dormant pass attack.

Jalen Hurts has thrown for 155 yards or less in three of his last four starts, and LA owns the league’s second-best pass defense, allowing just 168.3 yards per game.

If there’s one thing the Eagles have been, though, is resilient. That’s not enough for me to trust them to win. They are down their best defender in D-lineman Jalen Carter (shoulder) and their best O-lineman in Lane Johnson (foot).

The injuries have me leaning to a more gritty affair. Philly has cashed the Under in four straight, while the Chargers have gone Under the total in two of their last three. I’ll stick with this trend for Monday Night.

Eagles vs Chargers Closing Lines

Closing in on two hours before kickoff, the Patriots are -135 moneyline favorites, and down to 1.5-point favorites on the spread over at DraftKings.

The Chargers are showing as +120 on the moneyline at bet365, and 2.5-point home ‘dogs against the spread at BetMGM.

The best total for the Under is currently 42.5 points at DraftKings. Over bettors can find the 41.5 scoring line at bet365, among other books.

The interactive table above will automatically update as the NFL betting odds move over the course of the day.

PHI Eagles vs LA Chargers Line Movement

The Eagles have been the betting favorites since the Week 14 Opening Lines were delivered, but that number — as high as 3.5 points at some books — is dwindling.

That fluctuation has moved to as low as Eagles -1.5, but has since hopped up a little bit to  the 2.0-2.5-point range.

Philly has also been as high as -180 on the moneyline, but now lives in the -130 range, while LA, once around +150, has been cut down inside the +110 to +120 clip.

The total has stayed above 40 points, as high as 42.5, but settling in mostly at 41.5.

Despite their recent struggles, according to the NFL public betting percentages, the highest bet percentage is the Eagles to win outright on the moneyline at 79%.

However, that is taking just 43% of the bets, which means the remaining 21% of folks taking the Chargers to win are laying some pretty heavy wagers.

It’s also Philly on the spread, with 62% of the bets and 66% of the money taking the visitors to cover a 1.5-point spread. Just 34% of the money is on the Chargers to cover a 2.5-point line.

The public is hammering the Over, with 79% of bets and 85% of money hoping the two teams combine to top 41.5 points.

  • The Chargers have won six straight home games vs teams on a losing streak
  • Seven of LA’s last eight appearances on MNF have gone Under the total
  • The home team has covered the spread in each of the Chargers’ last five games
  • The Eagles have not lost three straight regular season games since Week 13-15 of the 2023 season
  • Philadelphia is 4-1 in their last five games vs AFC West teams
  • The Under has hit in four straight Eagles’ games
