Well, let’s just say we didn’t expect that Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers’ dud against the Saints was among the biggest shockers of Week 1 and puts us behind the 8-ball early.

Like Rodgers said, though, it’s just one bad game.

With that assurance, we turn to Week 2 and to a showdown in the NFC South, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Atlanta Falcons.

The defending Super Bowl champs are whopping 12.5-point favorites at home when they kick off at 4:05pm ET from Raymond James Stadium.

Let’s dig into some player prop wagers, and steer this ship right back to the plus side.

Trust in Tom

Tom Brady was his usual impactful self in a 31-29 Week 1 win over the Cowboys, going 32-for-50 for 379 yards, with four touchdown passes against two interceptions.

Dating back to last year, TB12 has eclipsed the 300-yard passing mark four straight games, and six of his last eight. He’s thrown for 348 yards or better in each of the Bucs’ last five games as betting favorites.

He shredded these same Falcons in a series sweep last year, and Atlanta didn’t look great defensively against the Eagles in their 32-6 loss in Week 1.

In Week 15, Brady threw for 390 yards and two majors in a 31-27 win on the road. At home in Week 17, he threw for a season-best 399 yards and 4 TDs.

Not sure if you want to take the yards or the TD tosses? Take both.

Picks:

  • Brady OVER 311.5 yards passing (1 unit to win 0.87 units)
  • Brady OVER 2.5 touchdown passes (1 unit to win 0.91 units)

Pitts Contained

Rookie tight end Kyle Pitts didn’t look out of place in his NFL debut, as Matt Ryan targeted him eight times, and the youngster finished with four catches for 31 yards.

While tight ends have been had some success against Tampa Bay, they haven’t exactly been eating up yards, serving more of a dump-down option for under-siege quarterbacks.

In the Bucs’ last five regular season games, only one tight end has surpassed Pitts’ 48.5 yard receiving total, even though they’ve surrendered at least four receptions to the position in every game.

  • Pick: Pitts UNDER 48.5 receiving yards (1 unit to win 0.87 units)

Jones Rolls

Even with veterans Giovanni Bernard and Leonard Fournette in the backfield, Tampa will need the fresh legs of Ronald Jones II throughout the year. After a fumble in Week 1, Jones rode pine and finished with just four totes for 14 yards.

Look for Bruce Arians to pump confidence into his young, featured back in this one. Last season, Jones hit the over on his rushing yards total in 11 of his 20 games and in his one appearance vs the Falcons a year ago, he rushed 12 times for 78 yards and a score.

  • Pick: Jones OVER 42.5 rushing yards (1 unit to win 0.91 units)

Who Scores?

Meanwhile, Chris Godwin has scored at least one TD in each of his last five appearances against the Falcons.
