  • The final NFL injury report for the Week 1 Sunday Night Football game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys is available
  • Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (knee) is playing, but will likely be limited in the number of plays he’ll see
  • Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is out

The final Buccaneers vs Cowboys injury report for NFL Week 1 has been released. The fate of these two teams can best be assessed by checking out the respective wide receiver rooms.

Tampa Bay starters Chris Godwin (knee) and Russell Gage (hamstring) were both listed as questionable, but it appears each will be playing. Dallas isn’t so lucky: wideout Michael Gallup (knee) is out.

Let’s take a look at the full Buccaneers vs Cowboys injury report below.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Injury Report

The Buccaneers, who have the shortest Super Bowl odds of any NFC team, may possess the deepest receiver room in the NFL. Starters are Godwin, Gage and Mike Evans. Bench strength is supplied by future Hall of Famer Julio Jones, Scott Miller, Breshad Perriman, and Jaelon Darden.

Factor in tight ends Cameron Brate and Kyle Rudolph and there’s no shortage of targets at which quarterback Tom Brady can take aim.

That being said, Tampa Bay didn’t want to go into this game without Godwin. He led the team last season with 98 catches and 1,103 receiving yards. It’s the second time in three seasons that Godwin was a 1,000-yard receiver. He’s snared 21 TD receptions over the past three seasons.

Signed as a free agent in the offseason, Gage caught 66 balls for 770 yards and four TDs last season with the Atlanta Falcons.

Dallas Cowboys Injury Report

Still seeking to work his way back from a torn ACL that ended his 2021 season after nine games, Gallup ultimately wasn’t considered healthy enough to be able to play in Week 1.

Combining Gallup’s absence with the offseason departures of Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson, and the loss of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide James Washington to IRL, Dallas QB Dak Prescott will be working with a very inexperience corps of wideouts beyond third-year receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Rookie Dennis Houston is next on the depth chart beyond Gallup. It will be interesting to watch how much the Cowboys opt to employ USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin. He’ll also be playing his first NFL game.

Eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith is out until December with a torn left hamstring. Dallas 2022 first-round pick Tyler Smith is starting in his place.

On the defensive side of the ball, strong safety Jayron Kearse is questionable for the Cowboys due to a neck injury. Israel Mukuamu, a 2021 sixth draft pick with four games of NFL experience, would step in if Kearse can’t go.

How Could Injuries Affect Buccaneers vs Cowboys Betting Lines?

In last season’s win, Brady threw for 379 yards and four TDs. Combined, he and Prescott passed for 782 yards and seven TDs. Puzzling then that 91% of handle in the Buccaneers vs Cowboys public betting splits is on the under.

With all of his weapons at his disposal, Brady figures to be just as dangerous. The over on his passing yards in the Buccaneers vs Cowboys player props looks like a solid play. It’s also worth noting that Brady is 6-0 straight up against Dallas during his NFL career.

How much will the departures of Cooper and Wilson, combined with the absences of Gallup and Washington, impact Prescott’s ability to work the Dallas passing attack? He threw 58 times in last season’s 31-29 loss to Tampa Bay.

Looking at the Tampa Bay vs Dallas picks, it might be a game where the Cowboys will rely more heavily on their 1-2 punch at running back of Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard.
