About the only thing that could have stopped us was this: Thursday Night Football getting cancelled in Week 6, with COVID-19 forcing the NFL into scheduling Tetris. After starting out slowly, we’ve banged out an 8-2 record on our prop bets the last three weeks, hanging nicely in the black at 1.29 units.

So let’s see if we can keep the good times rolling — you’re going to need something to keep you entertained, as two of the worst teams representing the league’s worst division collide when the New York Giants (1-5) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (1-4-1).

About the only thing looking up is the weather, expected to be clear and 76 degrees by 8:20pm kickoff.

Visit our Giants vs Eagles odds page for all your game betting needs. For now, let’s make some hay with the prop bets below.

Wentz Will Be Worth It

I get that the embattled Eagles’ QB hasn’t been his best this year. He’s completing just 58.7% of his passes this season, is tied for the NFL lead in fumbles and has more interceptions (9) than TD passes on the year (8). And while there are no moral victories in losses, the guy has been pretty resilient in back-to-back losses to the Steelers and Ravens.

He’s been working with a MASH unit on offense, and getting DeSean Jackson back only to lose Miles Sanders and Zack Ertz for an extended period just about sums up the Eagles this season.

Mercifully, their schedule eases up and they get the Giants two out of three weeks, with the Dak-less Cowboys sandwiched in between. If the Eagles were to turn things around, this would be the week to do it.

Wentz has tossed two TD passes in each of his last two games, and gets to face a Giants’ pass defense ranked 23rd in DVOA. He’s has also thrown for better than 266 yards in each of his last five games against NFC East opponents.

In short, he’s the best player on the field, and he should showcase in this one.

The pick: Wentz OVER 1.5 TD passes (1 unit to win 0.95 units)

Fulgham in Four Straight?

Above the wreckage that is Philly’s 1-4-1 season so far is the emergence of receiver Travis Fulgham.

Off the scrap heap of practice squad fodder, he’s gotten his chance and it looks like he’s here to stay.

Fulgham broke onto the scene with a tight-rope TD against the 49ers, and he’s been Wentz’s most reliable receiver since. On the year, he has 18 catches for 284 yards and three scores in three games. In the last two games against two top-10 pass defenses, Fulgham has 23 targets for 16 catches, 257 yards and two majors.

While we’re here, let’s also drop a wager on Boston Scott, the change-of-pace back who’s now shot up to the top of the depth chart. While he has just five catches on the season, including three zero-catch, zero-yard games from Weeks 2-4, he just happens to get the start against a Giants team he feasted on a year ago, racking up 153 yards receiving in two wins.

If you’re looking for a Giants’ prop, running back Devonta Freeman has seen his usage go up in every game since coming to New York. He had 11 carries in Week 5 against the Rams, 17 against the Cowboys and 18 last week in their first win of the year against Washington. Over 15.5 (+100) is something to look at.

The picks: Fulgham OVER 58.5 yards receiving (0.5 units to win 0.445 units) & Scott OVER 22.5 yards receiving (0.5 units to win 0.445 units)

Who Finds Paydirt?

Our only two L’s we’ve the past two weeks is in this category, where we just can’t seem to hit the right guy.

If you couldn’t tell, we’re pretty high on Fulgham, who’s scored a TD in three straight games, and in Wentz, who’s scored in three straight home games and has four rushing scores in six games this year.

If you’re looking for value, the tight ends should be in the mix. Evan Engram has no receiving TDs this year and just one rushing score, but the Philly defense is soft in the middle: they’ve surrendered six touchdowns to tight ends in four of six games.

On the other end, Richard Rodgers is thrust into a starting role with Ertz and Dallas Goedert sidelined. He played 60% of the snaps last week, and that number and potential catch volume should increase too.

The picks: Fulgham to score a TD (1 unit to win 1.8 units)
