  • Super Bowl 60 is here, and there are many different ways you can bet on the big game
  • The point spread and props are two of the most popular bets to make every year
  • See below for all the information you need to know about how to bet on the Super Bowl this year

The Super Bowl kicks off on February 8 at 6:30 pm ET. The big game is the most bet-on sporting event every year, and in 2026, the American Gaming Association predicts Americans will wager $1.76 Million, which will be a new record.

Super Bowl 60 is a rematch of Super Bowl 49 between the Patriots and the Seahawks.

If you have not bet on the Super Bowl before, or if you just want a refresher on the types of bets you can place, don’t worry. We have you covered with all the information you need, so you can be prepared for the big game.

Ways to Bet on Super Bowl 60

There are countless ways to bet on the big game. Not only can you bet on the moneyline, spread, and total, where you simply bet on who wins, if a team wins by a certain amount, or how many points the teams will score combined.

You can also bet on a plethora of props in the Super Bowl. Player props are the most common. People can bet on certain players to pass, rush, or receive for a certain number of yards or to score a touchdown. All of those bets can be placed every game during the regular season. Where the Super Bowl is different is the novelty props.

Even if you are not a huge football fan, you can still get in on the action with novelty props. You can bet on whether the coin toss will be heads or tails, the color of the Gatorade that is poured on the winning coach, and more.

Keep reading for a step-by-step guide on how to bet on the spread and on props in the big game.

Betting on the Spread in the Super Bowl

The spread is the most popular way to bet on any sporting event. The spread is set by sportsbooks, and bettors decide which team they think will cover that spread.

In Super Bowl 60, the Seahawks are 4.5-point favorites against the Seahawks. That means Seattle will be listed at -4.5. You can tell because the team that is favored is signified by the minus sign, while the underdog will always have a plus sign.

In this case, if you bet on the Seahawks, Seattle needs to win by at least five points for you to win your bet. If you bet on the Patriots, New England can either win the game or lose by four points or less for your bet to win.

If you are wondering about the -110 in the parentheses next to the spread, those are the betting odds. That shows what your payout would be. The odds are based on $100 wagers, so with the odds of -110, you would need to wager $110 to win $10.

That could be a lot for a new bettor, but do not worry, there is no minimum for the amount you have to bet. So if you would like to bet $10, for example, you would stand to win $9.10 plus your initial wager of $10, giving you a total payout of $19.10 if your bet wins.

It is worth noting that spreads can move. The spread in the Super Bowl opened at Seahawks -3.5, but it quickly moved to Seahawks -4.5 because of the amount of money that came in on Seattle.

If the spread moves after you place your bet, the change will not affect your bet. The spread you bet is the spread you get. It is important to look around at other sportsbooks because the spread and the odds associated with them will differ slightly from book to book.

Betting on Props in the Super Bowl

Betting on the spread is a great way to pick a team to root for in the game, but if you want to focus on a certain aspect of the game, prop betting is where you should look.

Prop bets are great for experienced bettors and new bettors alike. Player props are the most popular, and if there is a certain player you think will have a good game, you can bet on them specifically.

For example, touchdown props have become a wager that a lot of people enjoy. You simply pick a player to score a touchdown.

To place the bet, you click on the square with the odds. The odds are still based on a $100 bet, but if there is a plus sign in front of the number, then the payout is a little different.

For example, if you would like to bet on Rhamomndre Stevenson to score a touchdown, you would click the +135. If you bet $100 on him, you would win $135. Just like betting on the spread, there is no minimum bet required, so you can wager whatever amount you are comfortable with.

What makes Super Bowl props so much fun is that there are plenty of wagers you can place that have nothing to do with the game itself.

Some examples of common types of Super Bowl prop bets are:

  • Coin toss (heads or tails)
  • National Anthem length
  • Color of the Gatorade bath
  • What songs will be played at the Halftime Show
  • Who the MVP will thank first
  • Which car commercial will air first

The coin toss is a favorite of many, and you can check out the latest Super Bowl coin toss odds and history. The Gatorade color is another popular one, and we have all the historical Super Bowl Gatorade Color odds as well.
