Does the addition of Rodgers make the Jets the best bet in our Jets vs Giants prediction?

Offseason addition Rodgers, a Super Bowl winner and three-time NFL MVP, will be seeing his first game action in the green and white and doing so against their cross-city rival.

How to Watch Jets vs Giants

Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm ET on Saturday, August 26 at MetLife Stadium. The game is being broadcast live on the NFL Network.

The NFL odds show that the Jets are 4-1 SU in their last five road preseason games. They are 4-1-1 SU in their past six preseason games played at MetLife Stadium.

Did Rodgers Call This Shot?

According to NFL scuttlebutt, it was at his own insistence that Rodgers will be getting the start in this game. Evidently, he wanted to take some actual game snaps with the Jets offense before things get real during Week 1 of the regular season.

While Rodgers will be suiting up, several other key Jets will be riding the sideline due to injury. The top two RBs on the depth chart, newly-signed Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and sophomore Breece Hall (knee) are both listed as questionable. The same game status is given to All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner (hamstring) and WR Allen Lazard (undisclosed).

Daniel Jones Will Be Sitting This One Out

Following a strong performance last week in a win over the Carolina Panthers, look for Giants QB1 Daniel Jones to be given the night off. Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito are expected to handle the job under center for New York’s NFC team.

It’s equally unlikely that star RB Saquon Barkley will be seeing the field. In the absence of Cole Beasley (leg) and Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), who’s on the PUP list, rookie WR Jalin Hyatt is being given the opportunity to shine. He caught four balls for 35 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Panthers.

Jets vs Giants Picks

As exciting as the the thought of seeing Rodgers in action for the first time must be leaving the hearts of Jets fans palpitating, don’t go playing him in your NFL props at one of the leading NFL betting apps. The fact of the matter is it’s not likely he’ll be playing more than a series or two.

It might only be preseason, but the Jets are on a two-game winning streak over the Giants. That won’t sit well with Giants head coach Brian Daboll. Take the Giants and the six points.
