Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans hit the road next weekend as they look to knock off the Indianapolis Colts.

The Texans picked up their second straight win and fourth overall with a come-from-behind victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. Watson played like a stud, throwing for 280 yards and a touchdown on the day, but the oddsmakers don’t believe in him and his Texans next week in Indianapolis as the Texans vs Colts odds & stats have recently been released.

Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Odds Total
Indianapolis Colts -1 (-109) -120 O 48.5 (-110)
Houston Texans +1 (-111) +100 U 48.5 (-110)

The odds may lean towards the Colts, but when Sunday rolls around, don’t expect it to stay that way. The Colts may have looked impressive in shutting down the Kansas City Chiefs in their last contest but that was against a hobbled Patrick Mahomes.

This Texans team will be unlike anything the Colts have faced all season.

The Texans are Clicking on Offense

Following a 10-point outing against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, the Texans have lit the scoreboards up in back-to-back weeks.

They kicked off their scoring binge with with a 53-point outburst against the Atlanta Falcons last weekend. It was Watson who led the charge with 426 yards and 5 touchdowns. His 31-point showing against the Chiefs in Week 6 was just a continuation of a great season he has been having.

It isn’t just Watson who has been reliable this year. Deandre Hopkins is still one of the best wide receivers in the game but his running mate Will Fuller is having a great year, punctuated with a 217-yard 3-touchdown effort against the Falcons.

Deshaun Watson is an MVP Frontrunner

We all owe Deshaun Watson an apology. When naming the best quarterbacks in the league, the usual suspects are Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes. It’s for good reason. These guys have all either won Super Bowls or MVP awards.

In the case of Brady and Rodgers they have done both, so the hype around these signal callers is justified. With that being said, however, Deshaun Watson deserves to be amongst this elite group.

The third-year signal caller is amongst the league leaders in every statical category on the year. His dual threat ability has left defensive coordinators scratching their heads.

Jacoby Brissett is Being Slept On

Coming into the 2019 season, the Colts were left for dead. All-pro quarterback Andrew Luck abruptly retired from the NFL which left the Colts searching for answers. Before the season began, the Colts were viewed as the favorites to win the AFC South. Those odds plummeted once Luck hung up his cleats.

With Jacoby Brissett now at the helm, he hasn’t made Colts fans forget about Luck but he has made him somewhat of an afterthought. With 10 touchdown passes against only 3 interceptions, he has been efficient with the rock. His team will need him to be at his very best next Sunday with J.J, Watt and the Texans coming to town.

What’s At Stake?

Everything!

Every game in the NFL is important but the significance of a win gets amplified when you’re dealing with a divisional rival.

At this very moment the Colts are just one game behind the Texans for the division lead, but with a win, the Texans can push their lead to three games in the loss column. To sum it up, both teams want to win desperately.

Best Bet

The Houston Texans should not be an underdog in this game. The Texans have been better on both sides of the ball all year.

In terms of quarterback play, Jacoby Brissett has been impressive but he’s no Deshaun Watson. This is a divisional game between rivals so that will undoubtedly add some extra fuel to the fire.

Expect Deshaun Watson to lead his team to victory next Sunday in front of the Colts fanbase.
