Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3) head to Cleveland, Ohio for a battle with the Cleveland Browns (4-3) Sunday. The kick-off from FirstEnergy Stadium is scheduled for 1pm ET on CBS.
There is a slight chance of rain for this one but wind will be an issue for both teams as gust above 20 mph are expected.
The Steelers are riding high after taking out the Seattle Seahawks 23-30 in overtime. It wasn’t the prettiest of games but the Steelers were able to get the job done in large part to TJ Watt’s forced fumble in overtime. Meanwhile, the Browns got a lift from backup quarterback, Case Keenum, in their win over the 17-14 win over the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 7.
Steelers vs Browns Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Pittsburgh Steelers | +3.5 (-110) | +155 | O 42 (-110) |
Cleveland Browns | -3.5 (-110) | -180 | U 42 (-110) |
Odds as of October 28th at DraftKings.
The current odds are showing the Browns as 3.5-point favorites in this one which seems fair. In terms of the total, that sits at 42 which is second lowest on the Week 8 slate. Bettors either have a ton of confidence in the defenses or none at all in the offenses. My guess is it’s a mix of both.
Pittsburgh Steelers Outlook
The Steelers do not look like a good team in any facet of the game at the moment. Ben Roethlisberger looks old and the receiving core outside of Diontae Johnson can’t elevate his play. But if there has been a bright spot this season, it’s rookie Najee Harris who has done everything in his power to keep the Steelers in the playoff hunt.
As a rookie Najee Harris is on pace for
1,790 total yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns.
Pretty damn good for a rookie behind an below average OLine. Future is looking bright 🤩🤩

So far this season, Harris has been a staple in both the run and pass game. He’s had at least 23 carries in each of the last two games and has been targeted at least five times in both games. Pittsburgh is doing everything they can do to stay in games and it looks like it means getting Harris the ball.
Cleveland Browns Outlook
The Cleveland Browns barely beat the Denver Broncos last Thursday night but when all things are considered, it was a good win. For starters, they were missing starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, on top of stud running backs, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Mayfield is expected back this week while Nick Chubb to a giant step forward by practicing Monday.

Nick Chubb being back would mean all the difference in the world for the Browns. D’Ernest Johnson did well in his fill-in role but he is no Nick Chubb. Nobody is really. Behind the league’s second best offensive line in terms of adjusted line yards, the sky is the limit for Chubb and the Brown’s running game.
Steelers vs Browns Best Bet
Nobody wants to take a 3.5 and leave the hook out there but I’m not sure it makes much sense to buy it anymore. Given the two-point conversions and missed extra points, there could be some argument as to whether 3 is as key of a number as it has been in the past. Still, this one comes down to the fact that I think the Browns will win by at least a touchdown.
What we saw from the Steelers last week was pretty bad. That was Geno Smith they had trouble with. That’s bad because if they couldn’t stop him, the Browns will be a real problem. As good as their defense is, they will have a hard time moving the ball against Cleveland. Especially on the ground given they have one of the worst offensive lines in football. The Browns should roll Sunday.
