How to Watch Steelers vs Falcons

Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm ET on Thursday, August 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game is being broadcast live on the NFL Network.

During this eight-game win streak over Atlanta, Pittsburgh’s average margin of of victory is 7.875 points per game. The NFL odds show that the Steelers have won and covered in both of their 2023 preseason games.

Pittsburgh to Play Starters Entire First Half

Determining which Steelers QB to play some NFL props on at one of the leading NFL betting apps, won’t be an easy decision. Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin gave the majority of Week 1 work to Mason Rudolph. He went 7-of-12 for 132 yards and a touchdown. In Week 2, it was Mitch Trubisky carrying the QB load. His totals were showing 10-of-12 for 78 yards and a TD.

In fact, it might be a good week to make a play on Pittsburgh QB1 Kenny Pickett. Tomlin is indicating that his starters will be playing the entire first half in this game. He’ll leave those battling for jobs the second half to determine their fate.

Smith Uncertain If Atlanta Starters Will Play

Head coach Arthur Smith gave his starters one series in last week’s 13-13 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals. He might not even give them that against Pittsburgh. Smith hasn’t decided whether he’ll play his first stringer in this game.

Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson is definitely out with a soft tissue injury, but that doesn’t mean you’ll see more of first-round draft pick Bijan Robinson. He carried the ball four times for 20 yards in his NFL Preseason debut against the Bengals.

The backfield workload in the preseason is being handled by Godwin Igwebuike. Known primarily as a return man, Igwebuike rambled for 61 yards on 14 carries against Cincinnati. He rushed for 70 yards and a TD from 13 carries in Week 1 at Miami.

Steelers vs Falcons Picks

The last two times Pittsburgh was visiting Atlanta in the NFL Preseason, the games were close calls – 17-16 in 2001 and 17-14 in 1980.

However, in this preseason, the Steelers are firing on all cylinders. They’ve scored 27 points in each of their wins and won both games by double-digit margins. Look for Pittsburgh to continue its mastery of Atlanta.

Steelers vs Falcons Picks: Pittsburgh Steelers -4.5 (-110)
