Online sportsbooks believe the Buccaneers are still Brady’s most likely team if he does play next season, although there are plenty of other destinations that seem just as probable.

Las Vegas has the next shortest odds to land the GOAT, and the Raiders certainly have pieces that would be attractive for Brady. A reunion with New England is possible, while another AFC East team represents an interesting option.

Tom’s Time in Tampa Bay is Done

Brady ended his presser with essentially a farewell to the Tampa Bay media. He thanked them for their time together and he made it seem like he wouldn’t be back with the organization.

Brady gave the Bucs everything they could have hoped for in his three seasons, including a Super Bowl trophy. However, you have to think that the only reason for TB-12 to continue playing is to chase more rings, and Tampa Bay is not his best option.

The Bucs team is aging quickly, and lacking young, explosive playmakers to help turn Brady’s short passes into big gains. Brady averaged just 6.4 yards per attempt this season, and quick hitters to Chris Godwin simply aren’t going to take you back to the promised land.

An even bigger concern for Tampa Bay is their salary cap situation. The Bucs are $43 million over the cap, which makes them the second most cash-strapped team in the league. They don’t have the assets or the money to retool their roster in a way that makes them one of the league’s top teams.

Raiders a Realistic Option

Las Vegas is a likely fit. Brady has a long history with coach Josh McDaniels, and the Raiders have a spot open at QB with Derek Carr on his way out.

The Raiders also have a stacked offensive roster. Davante Adams is one of the best wideouts in the league, while Darren Waller is a mismatch at the tight end position. Hunter Renfrow is a Julian Edelman/Wes Welker clone, and we all know how much Brady loves to target those shifty slot receivers.

Las Vegas also has the chance to bring back running back Josh Jacobs, who just led the league in rushing. The best part about a Brady-Las Vegas marriage is the amount of cash the Raiders have to spend. Las Vegas is roughly $21 million under the cap, giving them the opportunity to plug some holes in free agency, specifically along the offensive line.

Don’t Sleep on the Jets

As for a reunion with the Pats, don’t bet on it. New England simply doesn’t have the playmakers on offense to compete with the AFC’s big boys. The Patriots are solid in most other areas, but Brady’s goal will be Super Bowl or bust, and New England isn’t ready to compete at that level.

Miami is a potential landing spot, but they’ve reportedly committed to bringing Tua Tagovailoa back. The Dolphins have aggressively pursued Brady in the past even with Tua on the roster, but assuming Tagovailoa can recover from his concussions, he proved he is fully capable of taking Miami’s offense to great heights.

Which brings us to the Jets. Zach Wilson clearly isn’t the answer, and New York’s roster is eerily similar to Tampa Bay’s a few seasons ago when Brady selected them. An incredibly strong defense, and promising skill-position players. Unlike the Bucs in 2020, the Jets have more speed and are better set up along the offensive line.

They’ve spent a ton of draft capital in that area, and a solid line in front of him has to be near the top of Brady’s wish list.

An added bonus of signing in New York would be the opportunity to stick it to Bill Belichick and the Patriots twice a year. Don’t forget, New England was ready to move on from Tom before he was ready to leave them.
