- The Friday NFL preseason odds favor Tennessee and rookie Cam Ward

The Minnesota Vikings will travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans in the final preseason game for both teams — and they’re apparently taking much different approaches to the finale.
The books are definitely aware, placing the Titans as home favorites in the latest NFL odds.
Action kicks off Friday night at 8pm ET from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN, with CBS carrying the broadcast.
Read below for my Vikings vs Titans prediction, as well as all the odds and the players that should be suiting up for their respective teams.

Minnesota Vikings vs Tennessee Titans Probable Starters
The Vikings’ unofficial depth chart was released for this one, and it looked like a regular-season sheet, with almost all starters of significance suiting up.
However, with the starters getting plenty of reps Thursday in a scrimmage-like setting in practice, it appears that depth chart is as unofficial as it gets.
That leaves a few notables for the Vikes, looking to lock down jobs, though you’d need to be a hardcore Minny fan to be interested: QB Max Brosmer will try to lock down the 3rd-string role, while Elijah Williams, a surprise undrafted rookie standout in the preseason, could nail down a defensive line role, especially after Harrison Phillips was dealt earlier in the week.
Notable Vikings vs Titans in Preseason Week 3
It’s all hands on deck for the Titans, who intend to play their starters in the finale, though it’s anyone’s guess how long they want to stay with them.
Rookie no. 1 pick Cam Ward will again see action in a third straight game, another chance to build in-game chemistry with Calvin Ridley, who sat last week against Atlanta.
Tony Pollard also sat last week, so maybe having all the key offensive pieces in for a drive or two will build Ward’s confidence as the regular season approaches.
Vikings vs Titans Prediction
- Vikings +3.5 (-110)
I just don’t think the Titans will risk the starters more than a series or two at the most, before giving way to the backups for the rest of the game. Is that enough time for Ward and company to do the work needed to cover this line?
The Vikings, meanwhile, sit in or around the Top 10 of the 2026 Super Bowl odds, depending on where you look, and that’s slightly conservative as we wait to see how JJ McCarthy pans out as a starter from a talented unit that went 14-3 a year ago.
As this one will get down to the backups, Minnesota is deeper and has more quality pieces, and should be able to cover against a team that’s rebuilding around its new rookie pivot and a roster with far more holes and question marks.
Vikings vs Titans Betting Lines
This spread feels like an overcorrection from the books that could benefit the bettor. On Monday, the Vikings were considered as much as a 1.5-point favorite before news of the starters sitting.
Tennessee was as far back as a 2.5-point underdog at the start of the week. Again, Brian Callahan wants to give his starters reps, but even he knows that the goal is to get his main guys out of there with a light sweat and no injuries.
