  • The Washington Football Team takes on the Dallas Cowboys with first in the NFC East on the line (4:30 EST)
  • This is the 10th all-time meeting between these two teams on Thanksgiving
  • Which players will shine in the second Turkey Day window?

The late afternoon Thanksgiving game is yet another truly surreal 2020 experience. Just think: we’re about to watch Andy Dalton and Alex Smith play for the lead in the NFC East. That alone would have sounded crazy at the start of this calendar, before you throw in the fact that the winner of this Washington vs Dallas clash will be in first at 4-7.

With an ugly-looking opener in Detroit and the night game getting postponed, can this historic rivalry rise to the occasion and give football fans their Thanksgiving fix?

Honestly, the game will probably end in a tie. But these props should still come through!

Zeke Too Full to Eat

Eleven weeks into the season and Cowboys fans could finally call off the search party: they found Zeke Elliott. The running back was located in Minneapolis, taking advantage of a pretty average Vikings run defense for his first 100-yard rushing game of 2020.

It was nice that Zeke had that effort on Sunday, because now he’s gotten it out of system. He can go back to being the ineffective rusher that isn’t even the best member of the Cowboys backfield.

Washington bottled up Elliott in their first meeting this season, holding him to 51 total yards on the day. The Cowboys offensive line has been reshuffled a little since that day and are playing better. But this new unit with Connor McGovern at guard still hasn’t come up against a front seven quite like Washington’s, and they’ll be tested in all areas.

Of all the units in the NFC East, Washington’s defense is the only one you could actually consider playoff-worthy. Look for them to do their job by shutting down Elliott and putting this game in Dalton’s hands.

Pick: 1 unit on Ezekiel Elliott UNDER 92.5 total yards (-113)

McLaurin Ready and Roarin

As fantasy players surely know, the Cowboys defense is bad at stopping tight ends. But did you know that they’re also bad at stopping every other position?

Yeah, Dallas is just awful at all the things. So you could make a pretty convincing case for most Washington players’ overs here. But why not zero in Terry McLaurin, their top receiving threat. He’s developed a nice rapport with Alex Smith over the last three games, topping 74 yards in all those outings.

McLaurin comes in with an ankle injury, but reportedly would’ve been a full practice participant on Wednesday. He should be good to go and ready to light up the Dallas D after a 90-yard outing in their first matchup.

No matter the game script, Washington will get McLaurin the ball. He’s their best offensive player by a mile and should show the nation that on the most-watched game of the regular season.

Pick: 1 unit on Terry McLaurin OVER 73.5 receiving yards (-143)

Thomas Tudder Time

I did mean what I meant before though. The Cowboys have allowed six touchdowns to opposing tight ends, including Logan Thomas in these team’s first meeting. Smith hasn’t been able to connect with the former QB in the end zone yet, but he has given him 16 targets over the last three games.

If that score is to come, why wouldn’t it be against Dallas. And with juicy odds to score anytime, I think that’s the play I’ll roll with here.

Pick: 1 unit on Logan Thomas to score a TD anytime (+250)
