Week 7 NFL Picks Against the Spread – Early Lines to Target

By Robert Duff in NFL Football
Published:

- In the Week 7 NFL picks against the spread, the Atlanta Falcons remain a perfect 6-0 ATS this season
- The New York York Giants are 5-1 both straight up and ATS
- At the other end of the spectrum, the Carolina Panthers are an NFL-worst 1-5 ATS
When they make their weekly NFL picks, whether they prefer to wager against the spread or straight up on the moneyline, there’s only one team that’s getting it done equally well on both sides of the bet.
In the NFL odds, the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons are the pictures of perfection. At 6-0 in the standings, Philadelphia is the NFL’s last SU unbeaten team. Meanwhile, 3-3 Atlanta is a perfect 6-0 ATS. The Falcons are the only team that can make this claim.
However, neither of these teams are keeping both sides of the betting ledger happy. The Eagles are 4-2 ATS. They needed a late TD to cover on Sunday at home against the Dallas Cowboys, or Philadelphia would be 3-3 ATS.
No, the best bet in the NFL whether it’s SU or ATS is another NFC East squad, the New York Giants. The Giants are 5-1 SU and 5-1 ATS.
Are they one of the best bets this week, though? Let’s look at the NFL Week 7 ATS picks and find out.

New England Patriots vs Chicago Bears | NE-7 | NE | 1 |

NFL ATS Pick 1: Patriots (-7) vs Bears
Imagine laying 7.5 points on a team starting their #3 QB. There’s actually an ongoing debate on whether New England should keep riding Bailey Zappe when QB1 Mac Jones (ankle) returns to health.
There is only one rookie QB in the Super Bowl era to win and post a 100+ Passer Rating in each of his first two starts
That QB is Bailey Zappe pic.twitter.com/SzzLA8Bowi

A dose of realism here – the Patriots have won and covered against the Lions and Browns, two teams that are a combined 0-7 SU in the last month. Another bit of reality TV to digest – the Bears are worse than both of those teams.
Pick: New England Patriots -7.5 (-110), 1 unit
NFL ATS Pick 2: Chiefs (-3) at 49ers
All the San Francisco 49ers players who aren’t injured car pooled to practice the other day. They fit into a Fiat and still had room for a dog, a set of golf clubs and a side of beef.
49ers now missing:
-both starting tackles
-both starting corners
-three starting defensive linemen
-starting safety
-starting running back
-starting quarterback
-starting linebacker— Chris Biderman (@ChrisBiderman) October 16, 2022
Seven 49ers offensive players and a dozen defensive players are currently carrying an injury designation. If you Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, you’re salivating all over the 49ers injury report like that dog in the Fiat with the non-injured 49ers eyeing that side of beef.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -3 (-110), 1 unit
NFL ATS Pick 3: Giants (+3) at Jaguars
To the Jacksonville Jaguars, NFC stands for no freaking chance. Jacksonville is 0-18 SU and 2-16 ATS over the past 18 games against NFC opposition. At home, the Jaguars are 0-9 SU and ATS over the past nine games against NFC clubs.
The New York Giants beat the 2021 No. 1 seeds from the AFC and the NFC.
The New York Giants also beat the 2019 MVP and the 2020 and 2021 MVP.
You can’t tell me nothing.

The last time Jacksonville won and covered over an NFC squad at home was on Dec. 10, 2017. The Jaguars beat Seattle 30-24 as 3-point favorites. The last time Jacksonville won and covered against an NFC team anywhere, no one had heard of COVID-19. On Sept. 9, 2018, the Jaguars beat the Giants 2015 as 3-point road favorites.
Interestingly, they’re playing the Giants again this weekend, and the spread is Jacksonville -3. But those Giants weren’t these Giants.
Pick: New York Giants +3 (-110), 1 unit
- ATS season record 11-6-1
NFL Week 7 Against the Spread Quick Picks
- Saints (+1.5) vs Cardinals: Arizona is 0-8 SU and 1-7 ATS in the club’s last eight home games.
- Buccaneers (-10.5) vs Panthers: Instead of throwing a sideline fit, Tom Brady leads the Buccaneers to a much-needed victory.
- Bengals (-6) vs Falcons: Is this the week that ATS perfection ends for Atlanta? Yes it is.
- Packers (-5.5) vs Commanders: Taylor Heinicke replaces the injured Carson Wentz as Washington QB.
- Colts (+3) vs Titans: Jonathan Taylor is back and Matt Ryan is finally figuring out the Indianapolis offense.
- Ravens (-6.5) vs Dolphins: The Browns haven’t won a game in a month.
- Lions (+7) vs Cowboys: Rested Lions team keeps it close against rusty Dak Prescott.
- Raiders (-7) vs Texans: Las Vegas can score points. Houston can’t.
- Jets (+3) vs Broncos: Is it time to believe in the Jets? No, but who wants to put any faith in Denver?
- Seahawks (+6.5) vs Chargers: Chargers coming off short week and unimpressive performance.
- Steelers (+7) vs Dolphins: Miami has crashed and burned, while Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is part magician, part sorcerer.
