Flyers Will Exact Revenge on Bruins

The Flyers are being listed as underdogs against the Bruins at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday after losing in overtime to Boston on Wednesday. There’s value on the underdog in this rematch when you consider the motivation factor. Philadelphia blew a two-goal lead in the third period Wednesday and were blown out 6-1 in the prior meeting.

The Flyers have earned at least a point in five straight games and have only lost back-to-back games on one occasion. It’s reasonable to expect a very determined Flyers squad on Friday considering how their last two meetings with Boston have gone. They’ll once again be facing Tuukka Rask, who hasn’t gotten off to the start he’s wanted this season with a .888 save percentage in six games.

The Flyers are getting solid production from their three top lines, while the Bruins rely heavily on the trio of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, and Brad Marchand. Expect a few key players on the Flyers who have been quiet in the recent meetings to step up Friday and lead the team to a revenge win.

Pick: Flyers Moneyline (+120)

Wings vs Bolts Will Be Goal-Scoring Frenzy

There’s never a shortage of goal-scoring when the Red Wings and Lightning do battle. The two teams are set for a rematch Friday at Amalie Arena after Tampa Bay cruised to a 5-1 victory on Wednesday. The Bolts scored three times in the first five minutes to hand the Red Wings a seventh straight loss.

The Lightning have been electric on home ice this season, posting a 5-0-0 record and scoring five goals in four of those contests. They rank fourth in the NHL with 3.63 goals scored per game and have nine different players who have scored multiple goals. It’s an obvious mismatch here facing a Red Wings defense that ranks fifth-last in the NHL with a 3.64 GAA.

While the Bolts should feast on Detroit’s weak defense once again, I expect a better showing from Detroit’s forward group. They’re getting a big boost on Friday with the return of sniper Filip Zadina and potted 10 goals in three prior meetings against Tampa. The Bolts’ offense will do most of the heavy lifting Friday, but the Wings should turn in a better effort to help the “over” hit.

Pick: Over 5.5 Goals (-129)
