The Colorado Avalanche come across as a hard team to figure out. Just when it looks like they are finished, the Avalanche showed the heart of a champion. Colorado roared past Seattle on Friday night on the road.

Seattle scored first but a late first-period tally by Mikko Rantanen changed the entire game. From there, Colorado dominated, enjoyed a 38-23 shots advantage, and ultimately a 4-1 win on the scoreboard.

Online sportsbooks peg Colorado to be big favorites in Sunday night’s NHL odds, and were +145 for the overall series on Friday. That would have been the time to bet the Avalanche.

Colorado vs Seattle NHL Betting News

The Avalanche look like they will not have the services of Valeri Nichushkin. However, Andrew Cogliano escaped serious harm after being cross-checked by Jordan Eberle on Friday.

Eberle avoided a hearing and needless to say, Colorado, as a whole, is not happy.

Andre Burakovsky remains out as Seattle’s only injured scratch.

Colorado dropped in the numbers for the Stanley Cup odds at +1000 while Seattle sprang out to +6500.

Avalanche vs Kraken Analysis

Alexandar Georgiev played smarter in Game 6, but also faced less work. Philipp Grubauer saw 38 shots from Colorado and tried to keep his Kraken in the game. Again, Seattle opened the scoring but mostly against the flow of play. The final 40 minutes saw the Avalanche dominate. Colorado had 26 shots to Seattle’s 13.

For the second time in this series, the Kraken could not handle the pace. Colorado racked up seven of the final nine high-danger chances. Seattle expected goal total over the last 40 minutes was a mere 0.61 combined while the Avalanche were at 1.31.

If that happens again Sunday night, Seattle may have few answers.

Honestly, when the depth of Colorado gets involved, they become pretty unstoppable. Artturi Lehkonen getting more shots on goal was significant but the goals were more. Even Erik Johnson scored.

So, Colorado got off the ropes, but now can they finish the series and play Dallas in the second round?

Avalanche vs Kraken Prediction

This series has been fascinating for all the flips and swings. Seattle controls play for a couple games, then Colorado finds a way to win a few contests. Game 6 felt a little different. When the Kraken scored, it felt like the Avalanche were just getting started.

Sure enough, Colorado scored four unanswered goals. Can Philipp Grubauer play as well as he did in Game 6 or will he crack again like in Game 4? The former seems to play out there as the German has five quality starts in this series. Again, the Seattle offense needs to be timely, or else.

Under 5.5 Goals +105
Colorado 3-Way 1st Period +130

Colorado needs to play downhill hockey. If they score first, then look out. The Avalanche are capable of shutting things down when they have the upper hand. Plus, Game 7’s are often lower scoring.
