Vegas Golden Knights Betting Analysis

This postseason, Vegas has won six of eight duels, with the two losses being dreadful 5-1 defeats. They rebounded after a poor Game 2 to handily defeat Edmonton on Monday. No team in the playoffs has scored more goals at even strength than them entering Tuesday, which has been critical for their success. In his first postseason, Jack Eichel has amassed ten points in eight games, the sixth quickest an active player has reached ten points in his playoff career.

In the first two games of the series, Vegas surrendered five PP goals on nine opportunities. They were much more disciplined in Edmonton, killing off a pair of penalties. That’s crucial if they want to continue with the upper hand, because the Oilers have a whopping 51.9% success rate on the PP, and the Knights are an abysmal 56.5% on the PK, worst of any remaining team.

Vegas has won seven of their last eight as the road underdog, yet the under has hit in five of Vegas’ last six games in the second round.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis

After racking up at least four goals in their previous five postseason games, the Oilers were grounded in Game 3, as they were only able to net one. Both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were held off the scoresheet. It goes without saying that’s not a recipe for success if they want to knot the series back up at two games apiece.

The Oilers weren’t able to take advantage of Vegas goaltender Laurent Brossoit leaving the contest due to injury. His backup Adin Hill performed admirably in his absence, stopping all 24 shots faced. He also played the third period in the Oilers Game 2 blowout victory, but those are his only career postseason appearances.

Edmonton has the firepower to rack up goals in bunches should Hill falter. They could still use some secondary scoring from the likes of Evander Kane (four points in nine games), and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who has zero goals and six assists.

The Oilers are 5-1 in their last six games following a loss of three or more goals.

Golden Knights vs Oilers Pick & Prediction

Bettors believe that Edmonton will draw even in the series 2-2, with 82% of moneyline bets placed on them thus far. Our model has this Golden Knights vs Oilers game going the home team’s way 3.66-3.57. That’s an implied winning probability of 61.9%.

After a brutal loss, it’d be surprising if Edmonton didn’t bounce back on home ice against a backup goaltender. The last two tilts have seen blowout victories, but seven goals failed to be scored.

Pick: Edmonton Oilers Moneyline (-180), Under 7 Goals (-130)
