With essentially just the upcoming 2026 NHL Entry Draft to look forward to, it’s a battle at the bottom of the Eastern Conference Sunday when the Florida Panthers (35-34-3, 16-19-0 away) visit the New York Rangers (29-35-9, 10-18-7 home).

New York is currently the only team actually eliminated for postseason play, yet find themselves as the betting favorites for this one in the NHL odds. Florida is hanging on by just at thread, 15 points back of the final Wild Card with just 10 games to play. Both rank inside the Bottom-5 records in the NHL

Acttion gets underway at 1pm ET from Madison Square Garden with MSG Network, NHL Network and Scripps Sports carrying the broadcast.

rushing blow in front of the MSG crowd? We are breaking down the granular data to uncover the sharpest picks, predictions, odds, and props for today’s puck drop.

Panthers vs Rangers Picks and Predictions

  • Best Bet: Over 5.5 Goals (-138 at FanDuel)

For a team that ranks third-worst in goal scoring this season, the Rangers sure have had the lamp lighting when playing the Panthers. New York thumped them 5-1 in their lone matchup this season, following from last season’s 5-3 win.

In all, the Over has cashed in three straight meetings between these teams.

The Rangers also just lit up the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in a. 6-1 romp. That snapped a six-game losing slide where they tallied three goals or fewer in each game. Still, they Over has cashed in four of their last six.

Florida has been a sturdy Over bet on the road of late, sporting a record of 11-6-0 in their last 17 away from home They’ve also gone Over the total in three of their last four contests following a loss.

As for the Panthers, they have just two wins in their last seven games. Their wins came scoring four or more goals, and they have given up four or more goals in three of their last four.

Florida’s inability to keep the puck out of the net — they allow a 3.33 GAA on the year, which is sixth-worst in the NHL — should play to the advantage of the Rangers, who have cashed the Over in four of their last five against Bottom 10 teams in goals against.

Panthers vs Rangers Top Player Props

Alexis Lafreniere anytime goal (+230 at FanDuel)

Lafreniere had a goal in New York’s blowout win over Chicago, giving him goalies in back-to-back games. He’s been consistent against the Panthers, racking up nine points in nine games, with three goals.

Mika Zibanejad Over 2.5 shots on goal (-135 at FanDuel)

The veteran center leads the teeam in shots on goal at 199 heading into Sunday’s action. He has registered three shots on net in four of his last eight games, and has ripped at least three shots on net against the Panthers in seven of the last 12 meetings.

Panthers vs Rangers Odds

Odds as of March 29. The interactive table above will automatically update as the NHL odds move over the course of the day.

Florida opens as a +120 underdog on the moneyline, with New York checking in at -140 for the outright victory. The point spread is at 1.5, there’s far less juice on the underdog Panthers staying within two goals than there is for the Rangers to win by at least two tallies (+180).

Total bettors: if you like the Over, head to FanDuel where the line is set at 5.5 goals, a half-point off the 6-goal line for Under bettors over at bet365.
