The Colorado Avalanche did this to themselves. Seattle came out, played their game, and now are one game from closing out the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
Colorado never got into the flow of things on Wednesday night as Seattle held them off in Colorado by a score of 3-2. Shots and chances were closer to even.
Online sportsbooks offer Colorado as solid favorites in Friday’s NHL odds, and now +145 for the overall series. This would be the time to wager on the Avalanche.

Kraken vs Avalanche Betting Splits
So, Colorado enjoys some reasonable numbers in Game 6 of the NHL betting trends. Bettors remain with some faith in the defending champions.
As of Thursday night, 68% of the moneyline bets are backing the Avalanche, while the over climbed to 90%. Expect a few shifts between now and Friday night as ATS numbers still tend to favor Seattle early.
Colorado vs Seattle NHL Betting News
The Avalanche will get Cale Makar back after he served his suspension on Wednesday night. However, the status of Valeri Nichushkin is a matter of contention.
Colorado looks about as healthy as it can be aside from the Nichushkin news.
It remains unclear when or if Valeri Nichushkin will return to the Avalanche this postseason. To separate rumor from fact, some context is being added to the “personal reasons” that led him to miss Games 3-5 of the series. (via @KyleFredrickson) https://t.co/5o1D5w55xn

Andre Burakovsky still is out for Seattle.
Colorado dropped in the numbers for the Stanley Cup odds at +1400 while Seattle shortened to +3000.
Avalanche vs Kraken Analysis
Both goaltenders were alright in Game 5. Seattle took advantage of Colorado’s sloppy play and held a 15-8 shot advantage after 20 minutes. That set the tone for the game. Eventually, Seattle scored first but Nathan MacKinnon responded. After that, the Kraken continued forward and took advantage of a lack of discipline from the Avalanche.
For the first time this season, the Avalanche came unglued. While arguing a call basically, Seattle scored then did not look back. The Kraken added a goal early in the third period. Now, Colorado scored to make the game closer late. However, Philipp Grubauer shut the door and made 27 saves in the road victory.
Colorado controlled most of the final two periods and had 10 of the 15 high-danger chances. Unfortunately for them, it was not enough on Wednesday night.

“Playing.”

Honestly, when a team nets power-play goals and their goaltender and defense play well, they win no matter the locale. Seattle, in four of the five games this series, has been the better team.
So, like we said, Seattle now has Colorado on the ropes. Can the Avalanche rebound or can Seattle pull off the upset on Friday night?

Seattle comes in with zero pressure at all. If they lose, there is still a Game 7. If Colorado loses, Seattle advances to the next round.
Avalanche vs Kraken Prediction
Seattle showed the resolve and discipline that Colorado has not for the past two games. It has been the biggest difference in this series. Dave Hakstol and the Kraken keep playing their game and getting timely goal scoring from all over the place. Whether it’s Jordan Eberle or Tye Kartye, they find a way.
Seattle needs one more effort like this to win the series. Colorado hopes their duo of Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen can will them to a Game 7 this weekend.
Kraken vs Avalanche Game 6 Same-Game Parlay
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Under 5.5 Goals | EVEN |
Seattle Kraken Moneyline | +135 |
Same-Game Parlay Odds | +340 |
Expect a surreal affair as again, will it be Colorado who delivers or do they succumb to the pressure? It’s an excellent question few saw coming. However, goals could again be at a premium for Game 6.
Pick: Same-Game Parlay (+340)
