  • Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals goes tonight (Wednesday, June 12) at 8pm ET
  • The Blues blew their chance to win the Cup at home in Game 6, allowing the Bruins to force a Game 7 in Boston
  • More than 80% of the money bet on Game 7 is on the Bruins to win

The Stanley Cup will be awarded tonight, as the St Louis Blues take on the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

While just about everyone outside of Boston has become a part-time Blues fan because they’re so sick of hearing about “Title Town”, not many are confident enough in St Louis on the road to put money on them.

Three prominent online sportsbooks have all reported that more than 80% of the money they’ve taken on moneyline wagers has gone on the Bruins.

Stanley Cup Game 7 Betting Splits

Online Sports Betting Site Moneyline Odds Money %
Sportsbook 1 BOS -180 / STL +155 BOS 84.6% / STL 15.4%
Sportsbook 2 OS -185 / STL +165 BOS 83.3% / STL 16.7%
Sportsbook 3 BOS -178 / STL +160 BOS 83% / STL 17%

When the odds for Game 7 opened on the morning of June 10, Boston was only listed as a -165 favorite, with the Blues being given +145 odds. Thanks to the heavy money coming in on Boston, you can see how much the moneyline has been affected above.

It’s clear many believe the Blues squandered their opportunity to win this series in Game 6 in front of their own crowd, losing 5-1.

Each team has played in one Game 7 in these playoffs. The Blues’ Game 7 came in the second round against the Stars where they escaped with a 2-1 OT victory. The Bruins’ Game 7 came in the first round against the Leafs where they dominated the game, winning 5-1.

However, St Louis’ Game 7 against Dallas was played at home. They’ll have to battle a hostile crowd in Boston tonight. Fortunately, the Blues have been road warriors these playoffs, racking up a 9-3 record as the visitor.

Meanwhile, home ice hasn’t been much of an advantage for the Bruins in the postseason, as they’ve posted a 7-5 record at TD Garden.
