New York Rangers Betting Analysis

The New York Rangers have been flying high, winning six straight tilts, scoring at least four goals each time, and six markers in each of the last three. Since they acquired Vladimir Tarasenko from the Blues, they’ve won all three contests, with him aiding with a goal and an assist. While they are likely too far back of Carolina to make a serious run at the Metro Division title (six points behind, Canes have a game in hand), they’re comfortably ahead of the Penguins for the third spot by nine points.

They’re ninth in scoring and fifth in goals allowed/game for the campaign. Their special teams have been solid as well, ranking twelfth on the PP and tenth on the penalty kill. New York has won their last six versus the Pacific Division.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis

After a poor stretch that saw Edmonton drop eight out of twelve affairs, they’ve rebounded with an impressive 9-1-3 record in their last 13 times hitting the ice. In 2023, they’re 10-3-4, with the fourth-best points percentage in the NHL. The best team? The New York Rangers (13-2-2).

They continue to be paced by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who are 1-2 in points on the season (99 and 80 points respectively). After a brutal first three months that saw free-agent signee Jack Campbell put up poor .876 save % and 3.90 GAA numbers, he’s really rebounded. He’s 9-1-1 in the calendar year, with a .907 save percentage and a 2.46 GAA. He has, however, surrendered at least three markers in four of five, including four goals in the Oilers’ 5-4 shootout loss to Detroit on Wednesday.

Edmonton has had no trouble scoring, as they pace the NHL (3.73 per game) with the league’s top power play. They have struggled to defend their net though, ranking 21st in goals against and 27th on the PK. Oil Country has dropped eight of ten against the Metro Division. However, in perhaps an odd coincidence, they’ve won nine of ten on Fridays.

Getting slightly more value on the Rangers is tempting, given that they are scoring at will and have won six straight. While the Oil have racked up a lot of points lately, they have dropped their last two games.

Rangers vs Oilers Same-Game Parlay Picks

The over goal total has hit in five straight Rangers contests. Ditto for the Oilers’ last five when their opponent scores five in their previous outing. With both these teams in the top-ten in scoring, it should be a track meet with lots of scoring.
