The NASCAR Cup Series heads down to North Wilkesboro for their All-Star event this Sunday, May 18th, at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. The green flag drops just after 3:00 pm ET, with live coverage on FS1 again and the Fox Sports App. In-car cams and multi-views will stream on MAX for both races.
The North Wilkesboro Speedway is a 0.625-mile short track where speed and execution are key. Everything occurs quickly with lap times around 18 to 19 seconds or so.. The stage setup is thrown out the window with a competitive caution at Lap 100. Also, there is a promoter’s caution, but that must occur at or before Lap 220. The promoter’s caution can be waived if 200 laps go by and then there is a caution.
Now, we detail the North Wilkesboro err All-Star odds (winner for the open race and the main event) for the favorites and some racers who have a chance. Under the tables, I have set out my All-Star race predictions and prime picks. Do note again that the third edition of this race in North Carolina is 250 laps.
NASCAR All-Star Race Betting Odds
At +275 odds, the implied probability for Christopher Bell to win the race is 26.67%. Kyle Larson rumbles in at +600 (14.29%), with Denny Hamlin (+1200) and Tyler Reddick (+1400) lurking. Larson also remains the favorite (+300) in the NASCAR Cup Series odds.

NASCAR All-Star Race Predictions
The weather expects once more to be dry with temperatures in the 70’s. Qualifying felt almost predictable as Kyle Larson took the pole by 0.057 seconds over Chris Buescher and 0.074 seconds over Christopher Bell. Last year’s winner, Joey Logano, will start fifth just behind Tyler Reddick. Heat qualifying offered several of the same drivers as options similar to 2024.
This Spring race offers a bit of a dilemma. There is an open race with several different drivers who could get into the main event.
The track is pretty flat around the turns. The frontstretch and backstretch have very little banking. Now, that allows for three-wide racing heading into the end of each lap. .
Bettors hope for no overtime, while Larson, Christopher Bell, and perhaps Joey Logano have the inside track this year. Heat qualifying showed just how fast they are. Even the open race should feature some exciting racing and a lot of 3-way racing.
Again, this race can be chaotic. There was a fight between the Stenhouses and Kyle Busch after the edition last year. For us, the key to betting success will be focusing on drivers who can maintain composure while navigating the tight quarters of North Wilkesboro’s short track, where tempers often flare and incidents can quickly reshape the race outcome.
- NASCAR All-Star Race Prediction to Win: Kyle Larson (+600 at DraftKings), Ty Gibbs to win the Open race at +550.

Do you want more a few more drivers to pick from? Okay, we deliver the quick table for the Open race. Even Bubba Wallace could have success at the smaller Open race. At least expect a few more cautions.
DraftKings has Bubba Wallace again at +550 and him along with Gibbs can win the shorter race on Sunday. Like we said for the longer race, turn to guys like Bell, Larson, Keselowski, etc. Good luck and enjoy the prime time special!
