- Liverpool’s Mo Salah vs Tottenham’s Harry Kane is one of the many showdowns
- Salah, teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shared the EPL goals lead last season, each scoring 22 times
The English Premier League season kicks off Friday when Liverpool faces Norwich. As with the beginning of any season, its arrival brings with it many debates for which outcomes will be determined.
Sportsbooks are offering the chance to make some money on goal scoring props. The sportsbook has put forth several goalscorer match bets featuring top English Premier League finishers.
Do you like Mo Salah or Harry Kane? Raheem Sterling or Sadio Mane? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Sergio Aguero?
These are just a few of the many options offered in head-to-head wagering showdowns. Last season, Liverpool’s Salah and Mane and Arsenal’s Aubameyang shared the English Premier League goalscoring title. Each player potted 22 goals.
2019-20 English Premier League Goalscorer Match Bet – Mo Salah vs Harry Kane Odds
Player | 2018-19 Goals | Odds |
---|---|---|
Mo Salah | 22 | -110 |
Harry Kane | 17 | -120 |
*All odds taken 8/7/19
Will Kane be able? That’s the key question when dechipering the outcome of this head-to-head battle.
An ankle ligament injury last season limited the Tottenham Hotspur striker and England captain to 28 games and 17 goals, Over a 38-game pace, that would’ve given him 24 goals and the goalscoring title.

Healthy the previous two seasons, Kane was good for 30 goals in 2017-18 and 29 in 2016-17. When he hit the back of the net last season against Cardiff City, Kane became the first player to have scored a goal against every Premier League team he has faced.
It’s hard to overlook Salah’s consistent form, though. He’s scored 54 goals in 74 EPL matches for Liverpool, an average of .729 goals per game. That works out to 28 goals per season over the course of a 38-game season.

Salah’s led the league in goals the past two seasons. Is he good for a threepeat?
Pick: Mo Salah (-110)
2019-20 English Premier League Goalscorer Match Bet – Sergio Aguero vs Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Odds
Player | 2018-19 Goals | Odds |
---|---|---|
Sergio Aguero | 21 | -130 |
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang | 22 | +100 |
With 21 goals last season, Manchester City striker Aguero was the leading scorer on the side that netted the most goals in the EPL. It was his fifth straight EPL season with at least 20 goals. Over that span, Aguero has averaged 22.4 goals per season.

Arsenal striker and Gabon captain Aubameyang has proven to be an EPL goalscoring machine since the Gunners added him from Borussia Dortmund via a reported £56 million transfer fee on January 31, 2018.
He scored 10 goals in just 13 matches in 2017-18. With 16 goals in his first 22 matches, that worked out to an average of one goal every 104.6 minutes, at the time the highest goals-per-minute ratio in EPL history.

Aguero has plenty of support at Manchester City when it comes to filling the net. The same can’t be said for Aubameyang. After him, Alexander Lacazette (13 goals) was the only other Arsenal player with more than six goals.
Go with Aubameyang, simply because he must score in order for Arsenal to go forward.
Pick: Aubameyang (+100)
2019-20 English Premier League Goalscorer Match Bet – Sadio Mane vs Raheem Sterling Odds
Player | 2018-19 Goals | Odds |
---|---|---|
Sadio Mane | 22 | -120 |
Raheem Sterling | 17 | -110 |
Sterling has proven to be the picture of consistency for Manchester City the past two seasons. He potted 18 goals in 33 EPL matches in 2017-18. Last season, he netted 17 times in 34 matches, almost a repeat performance.

The issue is those are his only seasons with more than nine goals. Does Sterling have another gear in him, another level he can reach in terms of productivity?
That isn’t a question where Mane is concerned. Fresh off a share of the league lead with 22 goals for Liverpool last season, he spent his summer helping Senegal make a run to the finals at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mane was also third in the EPL in getting his shots on target, connecting on 42 of 76 shots taken, a 55-percent success rate.
Pick: Sadio Mane (-120)
2019-20 English Premier League Goalscorer Match Bet – Wesley Moraes vs Joelinton Odds
Player | 2018-19 Goals | Odds |
---|---|---|
Wesley Moraes | 10 | -130 |
Joelinton | 7 | +100 |
Two Brazilian strikers who are newcomers to their respective clubs, Aston Villa (Moraes) and Newcastle (Joelinton) will be counting on big things from their debutants.
Prmoted to the EPL, Villa spent a club-record £22 million to add Moraes from Club Brugge, where he scored 10 goals last season.

Joelinton, 23, is Newcastle’s record signing at £40 million, and he’s never gotten to double digits in a single season of league play during his career. He scored twice in preseason friendlies.
Newcastle won’t just be counting on double figures from Joelinton, they’ll require it if relegation is to be avoided.

The Magpies haven’t turned to a striker this young since signing Malcolm MacDonald, 21, in 1971. He went out and scored 21 goals for Newcastle in 1971-72.
Pick: Joelinton (+100)
