Notes on the EPL Golden Boot odds movement over the course of the season:
- [Feb 28] – Holding a five-goal lead over Erling Haaland with ten games remaining, Liverpool’s Mo Salah is as short as -400 to take home this year’s EPL Golden Boot.
- [Oct 24] – Despite sitting among the goal scoring leaders with 6, Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo remains further down the Golden Boot table, with odds currently at +3300
- [Aug 13] – Haaland remains as the favorite at -150, with the new EPL season set to start in just a few days. At +1000, Mo Salah is next best to begin the season.
- [Jul 15] – Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland is the favorite to win his third EPL Golden Boot, with odds opening at -150.

Despite falling short of his record-setting pace the previous season, the 27 goals scored by Erling Haalnd across 31 matches was enough for the Norwegian striker to capture his second EPL Golden Boot. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer (22) and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak (21) respectively finished second and third in the goal-scoring race.
Past Premier League Golden Boot Winners
Year | Player(s) | Team | Goals |
---|---|---|---|
2023-24 | Erling Haaland | Manchester City | 27 |
2022-23 | Erling Haaland | Manchester City | 36 |
2021-22 | Mohamed Salah/Son Heung-Min | Liverpool/Tottenham | 23 |
2020-21 | Harry Kane | Tottenham | 23 |
2019-20 | Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | 23 |
2018-19 | Mohamed Salah/Sadio Mane/Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang | Liverpool/Liverpool/Arsenal | 22 |
2017-18 | Mohamed Salah | Liverpool | 32 |
2016-17 | Harry Kane | Tottenham | 29 |
2015-16 | Harry Kane | Tottenham | 25 |
2014-15 | Sergio Aguero | Manchester City | 26 |
2013-14 | Luis Suarez | Liverpool | 31 |
2012-13 | Robin van Persie | Manchester United | 26 |
A goal total in the low 20s is typically enough for a player to secure the Golden Boot, though a few players have hit the 30s in a few recent seasons. Luis Suarez (31) and Mohamed Salah (32) both eclipsed that threshold before Haaland demolished it with a record 36 goals two seasons ago.
