Mexico have already hit 13 goals at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and remain on course for another triumph after setting up an exciting quarterfinal against Costa Rica on Saturday, June 29, at NRG Stadium, Houston at 10:00 pm EST.
They are rated as favorites to win the competition at even-money, the same price they were offered at prior to the tournament kicking off.
CONCACAF Gold Cup Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
Mexico | EVEN |
USA | +160 |
Canada | +1400 |
Costa Rica | +1400 |
Jamaica | +1600 |
Panama | +1600 |
Haiti | +5000 |
Curacao | +20000 |
*Odds taken at 2019/06/28.
But their biggest rivals, the free-scoring United States Men’s National Team (USMNT), certainly have the more inviting path into the semifinals with a last eight tie on Sunday against tiny surprise package Curacao on June 30, at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, at 8:30 pm EST.
So the Americans offer promising value at this stage at +160, with massive underdogs Curacao +20000 to lift the trophy.
Between them, Mexico and the USA have won all but one of the 14 editions of the tournament.
On Course for Chicago Final
They could meet in this year’s final in Chicago on July 7.
Joint-third favorites Canada (+1400) meets Haiti (+5000) in the last eight on Saturday, June 29, at NRG Stadium, Houston at 7:00 pm EST.

Jamaica (+1600) takes on Panama (+1600) on Sunday, June 30, at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, at 5:30 pm EST.
The USMNT did not quite match the goalscoring prowess of their biggest rivals, hitting the net 11 times in their three straights wins.
There was a stronger defensive performance from USA than Mexico so far this tournament. In the three group games, they did not concede a goal.

Seven Goals Against Cuba
However, Mexico had the advantage of opening the competition in Group A against Cuba, whom they hammered 7-0. The Cubans were beaten by the same score against Canada.

The Mexicans followed up with a 3-1 defeat of Canada. Then, with qualification secured, several players were rested as they recorded an unimpressive 3-2 defeat of Martinique.
Guyana were the victims of USMNT who ran up a 4-0 opening game win.
They then crushed Trinidad and Tobago 6-0. With players rested by both sides in the final Group D match, the USMNT beat fellow quarterfinalists Panama 1-0.
