The odds are relatively even here, with AC Milan at +175 and Inter just slightly ahead at +155. Last term, the two sides met a total of four times. Twice in the Coppa Italia, and twice in league action. Both clubs notched a victory apiece while also settling for a couple of draws.

Over/Under & Spread

The over 2.5 goals sit at -125 odds, while the under is -105. Three of the last five encounters have comfortably hit the over. There is never a shortage of fireworks in this iconic encounter.

AC Milan vs Inter Milan Prediction

The reigning champions aren’t off to the greatest start in their title defense. While Milan has yet to taste defeat, they’ve gone 2-2-0 so far, which puts them in the sixth spot. But, it’s extremely early in the campaign which means there is absolutely no need to panic.

Tuesday’s stalemate with Sassuolo was a rather poor attacking display though, despite enjoying 62% of the ball. Stefano Pioli’s men registered just two shots on target of their 11 total attempts. Keeper Mike Maignan came up with a massive save on a penalty to help the Rossoneri steer clear of an early defeat. Also, Milan is now unbeaten in 20 Serie A matches, dating back to the last term. That includes 13 victories.

Inter looks very good early on, registering nine points from a possible 12, and has the second-shortest Serie A odds at +185. Their only slip-up came on matchday three last Friday, losing 3-1 to Lazio in a rather forgettable performance at the Stadio Olimpico. But, Simone Inzaghi’s side bounced back on Tuesday, winning by that exact same scoreline.

Joaquin Correa and Nicolo Barella put the Nerrazzuri two goals to the good by the first half and then Lautaro Martinez added another in the 76th minute to seal the three points. Cremonese netted in injury time, but it was too little too late. Inter is the “away” club on Saturday, but they’ve collected six league wins in a row at the San Siro, which is a promising sign ahead of the derby.

AC Milan vs Inter Milan Lineups & Injuries

Milan Projected Lineup: Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Diaz, Leao; Giroud

Milan Injuries: Ibrahimovic, Rebic, Krunic, Florenzi

Inter Milan Projected Lineup: Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Martinez, Dzeko

Inter Milan Injuries: Mkhitaryan, Lukaku

AC Milan vs Inter Milan Pick

The absence of Romelu Lukaku shouldn’t hurt Inter too much and to be honest, as the star striker will miss out with a flexor injury. They just have a deeper attack and have shown in the first few weeks the ability to get goals from anywhere. I’m liking the Nerrazzuri to come out on top in their first clash of the season with Milan.

Pick: Inter Milan +155
