Bayern Münich vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

Despite being without top scorer Robert Lewandowski at the weekend, the Bayern juggernaut kept on rolling and a fine 3-2 win over third-placed Wolfsburg opening up their lead at the top of the table to seven points. With only five left to play, the title is theirs to lose. In the absence of their Polish striker, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been tasked with leading the Bayern line, but it is midfielder Jamal Musiala who has taken on the goalscoring responsibility with a brace in the Wolfsburg win.

Bayer Leverkusen’s aim of a European place next season has been looking a little shaky of late after an indifferent run of form saw them drop out of the top five, but an excellent 3-0 win over Koln at the weekend have revived their hopes. They are now in sixth, just two points behind fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund.

It is hard, however, to see past a Bayern win here, especially with them getting so close to yet another title. Whether the talk of a European Super League – of which Bayern has currently chosen not to be a part of will have an impact, will only be revealed on the night. But I see the value here in the two-goal winning margin for the Bavarians.

Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin Prediction

BVB’s season has not gone as planned and despite having the hottest prospect in Europe in their line-up, Erling Haaland, they are currently in fifth place and a whopping 19 points behind leaders Bayern as we enter Bundesliga Matchday 30. They still have plenty of work to do to make it into the top four and are four points behind fourth-place Eintracht Frankfurt.

At the weekend, they came from behind to beat Werder Bremen 4-1 and will look to do a similar job on Union in order to keep up their belated quest for that European place. They have reached the must-win stage of the season but against opponents who themselves are still in with an outside chance of a European place, this promises to be a tight game. BVB manager Edin Terzic is still without Thomas Delaney, Jadon Sancho, Axel Witsel, and Dan-Axel Zagadou for this one.

Union comes into this off the back of an impressive 2-1 home win over Stuttgart at the weekend but has struggled to make much impression away from home this season. Despite BVB being odds on, there is still some value in the home win, as I expect Haaland to make the difference.

Pick: Borussia Dortmund to win (-190)

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Augsburg Prediction

Eintracht Frankfurt will have been stung by a heavy 4-0 beating by Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend and will be keen to get their Champions League challenge back on track. A game against 11th-placed Augsburg, who are safe from relegation yet unable to challenge for the European places could be the ideal match-up.

In Eintracht’s favor is an outstanding home record – they have yet to lose this season in Deutsche Bank Park – and against an Augsburg team that has a -13 goal difference, it is hard to see past the home win, especially considering the visitor’s last visit to Frankfurt, in February 2020, ended in a 5-0 hammering. While I don’t expect a repeat, I do expect a comfortable home win.
