Flamengo are in good form and are top of the Campeonato Carioca Serie A after going unbeaten in their first six games. Their only defeat during that spell came last month in the Supercopa do Brasil final, when they lost to arch-rivals Palmeiras.
Despite Brazil being a world soccer powerhouse on the international stage, a Brazilian club team has not won the World Club Cup for over a decade.

In order to qualify for this final, Al-Hilal did it the hard way by winning a penalty shoot-out in their quarterfinal with Casablanca. They almost bowed out of the tournament but an injury-time equalizer from Yahia Attiyat Allah took the game to extra time and then pens.
The last time Flamengo and AlHilal met in this competition, in 2019, the Brazilians ended up winning 3-1 but not before going a goal behind early on and suffering several scares throughout the 90+ minutes.

Los Blancos unsurprisingly start as massive odds-on favorites at -400, with an implied win probability of 80%. Al Ahly are listed at a huge +850 for the win in 90 minutes with an implied probability of just 11%. The draw is listed at +430, implied at 19%.
Al Ahly vs Real Madrid Preview
Al Ahly are past masters of reaching this stage of the competition, having now done so for three consecutive seasons. They reached this semifinal after seeing off the challenge of a good Seattle Sounders team on Saturday with an 88th-minute winner from Mohamed Magdy.
The Egyptians are in great shape as, in addition to reaching this semifinal, are currently leading the Egyptian Premier League table by six points and have now gone 23 games undefeated in all competitions. They have also won all of their last five games.

Los Blancos qualified for this competition by winning the 2022 UEFA Champions League winners and are big favorites to go all the way and win it for what would be the fifth time.
But they come into this game in a not particularly good place after suffering a shock La Liga defeat at the weekend at the hands of the islanders of Mallorca. It left them eight points adrift of leaders Barcelona.

The Egyptians are the form team of the two – in fact their recent form has been incredible – but Real’s defeat at the weekend will have stung and they will be looking to respond. It will likely be close but I see Los Blancos’ extra quality eventually seeing them through to a one-goal win.
