The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League tournament marks the first time in the competition’s 70 years that the participants will compete in a league format in a single, joint group consisting of all 36 teams.

Notes on the UEFA Champions League Odds Movement over the course of the competition include:

• [Mar 7] – Barcelona (+350) are your new UEFA Champions Leagues favorites, following their 1-0 away win over Benfica. The Blaugrana replace rivals Real Madrid (+400) at the top of the table, despite the latter’s 2-1 home win against Atletico Madrid.
• [Feb 25] – Following their decisive defeat of Man City over two legs in the playoff round, Real Madrid (+333) now find themselves as favorites at the top of the UCL odds table. La Liga rivals Barcelona (+450) are just behind, after receiving a favorable Round of 16 draw against Benfica.
• [Jan 29] – It took until the last day of the league phase, but Manchester City have managed to qualify for the next round of the Champions League. Their road to the title from here will be tough one: though they’re currently getting +843 to win the tournament, The Cityzens will face either Real Madrid (+599) or Bayern Munich (+907) in the Knockout Round before either of Bayer Leverkusen (+2057) or Atletico Madrid (+1771) in the Round of 16.
• [Dec 13] – Following a 2-0 away loss to Juventus, Man City have fallen out of the Top 4 if the Champions League odds table. Now sitting in 22nd on the table, City is averaging +707 to win their second European title.
• [Oct 24] – After Matchday 3 there’s little change at the top of the UCL odds table, but don’t sleep on the EPL’s Aston Villa. One of two remaining sides with a perfect record, the Villans are now getting +3300 to win after peaking at +6600.
• [Oct 4] – Real Madrid’s odds took a hit following a 1-0 away loss to Lille, falling from +275 to +300. Following their win, the French side jumped from +15000 to odds as short as +10000.
• [Sep 20] – No major movement among the favorites after the first matchday, though AC Milan dropped from +3500 to +6500 following their 3-1 loss at home to Liverpool.
• [Aug 29] – With the qualifying stages now complete and the league phase matches drawn, Real Madrid open as favorites to repeat as UEFA Champions League champions. Last year’s winners are currently getting +270 to win their sixteenth title, after drawing home matches against the likes of Stuttgart, RB Salzburg, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, last year’s runner-up.

The 2024 final was won by Real Madrid in a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund from the Bundesliga. Though Dortmund were the better team for the first hour of the match, it was Madrid who executed with clinical finishing, with goals from Dani Carvajal in the 74th minute and Vinicius Junior in the 83rd.

It was a record-extending 15th European title for Real Madrid, and their sixth in the last eleven seasons. For Dortmund, it was the club’s second finish as runner-up in three appearances in the finals.

Madrid’s win in 2023/24 extended their record total of European championships to fifteen. They now boast eight more titles than second-place AC Milan, as the Italian giants currently hold seven European titles.

La Liga teams have now claimed 7 of the last 10 Champions League titles, though six belong to Real Madrid; the other comes from Barcelona’s campaign back in 2024/15.

Following Madrid and Milan in the list of all-time title holders are Liverpool and Bayern Munich, each with 6, Barcelona with 5, and Amsterdam’s AFC Ajax with 4.
