Unbeaten Canada hopes to secure another boost for its dream of World Cup qualification when it heads to struggling Jamaica on Sunday, October 10th.
The Canadian team has previously made the finals only once in 1986. It lost all three games in a tough group including the Soviet Union, France, and Hungary, finishing emphatically in bottom place.
However, they are advancing well in the “Octagonal” Third Round stage of the CONCACAF zone’s current qualifying tournament for next year’s finals in Qatar.

Jamaica vs Canada | JAM +0.5 (-130) | CAN -0.5 (-105) | JAM +320 | CAN +100 | DRAW +200 | Ov 1.5 (-155) | Un 1.5 (+120) |
Odds as of October 9 at DraftKings
Canada currently holds third place after one win and three draws – a position that would claim an automatic spot at the finals.
Indeed, they are in a buoyant mood after earning an impressive 1-1 draw away from home against currently second-placed Mexico in its most recent fixture on Matchday 4 last Thursday.
Only One Point For Jamaica
Meanwhile, Jamaica is bottom of the eight-team tournament and has won only one point after one draw and three defeats.
Their latest setback came in a 2-0 defeat by the present group leaders USA in Texas last Thursday.

Therefore, the oddsmakers at DraftKings foresee an away victory for the Canadians at +100.
With kick-off at Independence Park in Kingston at 6:00 pm ET, Jamaica is priced at +320. Furthermore, the draw is +200.
Canada hang on to a massive 1-1 draw at the Estadio Azteca against Mexico.

It may, though, pay to be bold here. The spread offering for Canada to win by two goals or more is an attractive +300 (Spread -1.5).
Conversely, Jamaica has won two of its last three meetings with Canada. The visitors have not, additionally, won in Jamaica since 1988.
The draw in the Azteca Stadium has fired up Canada’s hopes of success.
The form book, however, suggests a different outcome this time. Moreover, Canada was a 2-0 winner in the last clash with the Reggae Boyz in a friendly in September 2017.
In particular, the draw in the mighty Azteca Stadium in Mexico City last weekend has fired up Canada’s hopes of further success this weekend.
By drawing away against the two most powerful nations in the group – the USA and Mexico – Canada has certainly shown impressive form on the road.
Canada Showed Grit
The Mexicans had the best chances last mid-week and Canada had to show some grit to claim its point.
John Herdman, the Canadian coach, said he was disappointed that his team did not claim all three points. This underlined the confident mood in the squad just now.

A goal from Club America defender Jorge Sanchez put Mexico in front after 20 minutes.
But Canada showed spirit and leveled through Toronto FC midfielder Jonathan Osorio just before the break.

Three Comebacks Claim Points
The spirit of the Canadian players has been illustrated by the fact that in all three of its draws, it recovered from falling behind to earn their point.
It has consequently given Canada a tally of six points, with first-placed Mexico and the USA on eight points.

The first three finishers automatically reach the finals. Fourth place subsequently heads into an inter-confederation playoff.
That is a very distant hope for Jamaica, which has made one appearance at the finals in 1998 in France, where it was third in its group.

Certainly, Jamaica has underperformed in this tournament.
A 2-1 opening round defeat by Mexico was understandable. Then, secondly, there came a surprise 3-0 home defeat by Panama.
Neither West Ham’s Michail Antonio nor Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has joined Jamaica’s squad.
Following that, the first point arrived with a 1-1 draw in Costa Rica.
The defeat by the USA last midweek was, however, comprehensive.

Jamaica managed just five goal attempts in comparison with 17 for the USA.
It had possession stats of just 39 percent to the 61 percent enjoyed by the Americans.
Winless In Six Games
Now, the Jamaican side is winless in six games and cannot hold out much hope of ending that streak this time out against Canada.
Its problems have been increased by the fact that neither in-form West Ham striker Michail Antonio nor Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has joined the squad this time around.

That means Shamar Nicholson of Belgian side Charleroi – who has scored both Jamaica’s goals so far – will have extra responsibility.
Canada’s top scorer is Cyle Larin of Besiktas, who also has two goals.

For Canada, New England winger Tajon Buchanan is suspended.
However, to sum up, Canada knows it has a big opportunity here and could well win by at least two goals.
Pick: Canada +300 (Spread -1.5)
