While some leagues prepare for midweek cup matches, Spain is shifting their focus to La Liga Matchday 6. After the fifth round of matches ending just this Monday, the next round of fixtures is already set to kick-off, with Getafe hosting Atletico Madrid on Tuesday afternoon.
That match is one of three on Tuesday and is really just an appetizer for Wednesday’s loaded slate. The 1:30 pm time slot on Wednesday is highlighted by a mid-table clash between Sevilla and Valencia, who are in sixth and third place, respectively.
La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, will also be tested by a newly promoted Mallorca side. Despite being in ninth place, they have surprised teams so far, gathering eight points from five matches.

Elsewhere, Villarreal looks to come out of their Europa League hangover, and Barcelona will try to get three points after a draw to Granada on Monday. The Blaugrana are only in seventh place in La Liga after five matches and will be trying to climb their way back up the table.
Sevilla vs Valencia Prediction
Regardless, the first match of the La Liga match week is between Sevilla and Valencia in Seville, at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
This season, Sevilla got off to a strong start in La Liga under Julen Lopetegui. They won their first two matches, but have had a bit of an awkward run as of late. They dropped points in a draw, away at Elche, and then had a match postponed against Barcelona. This left them as one of the only teams with four La Liga matches under their belt.
Four penalties faced in two games. Two saved, one hit the post and only one went in.

Then, Los Nervionenses experienced two more draws. The first came against Salzburg in the Champions League and the second came against Real Sociedad, again in La Liga. Now, these are difficult opponents, which must be considered. But, the results speak for themselves to an extent.
The Sevilla defense is generally quite organized, but their lack of creativity on offense is what shines through. Erik Lamela and Yousef En-Nesyri have been bright at points in the attack but will need to be even better against Valencia.

Their Wednesday opponents have won three out of their last five. Additionally, Valencia only lost to Real Madrid this weekend thanks to two late Galactico goals, coming after the 85th-minute mark. I expect this game to be a little tamer, and in turn, end in stalemate.
Pick: Draw moneyline (+285)
Real Madrid vs Mallorca Prediction
Next, Real Madrid takes on Mallorca at 4:00 pm EST at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
This match should be a fairly easy three points for Carlo Ancelloti and company, given their current form. The Galacticos have not lost a game in six outings across La Liga and the Champions League.
Their defense looked shaky in a 3-3 draw to Levante and had fans questioning the departures of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos. However, they have been tidier since only allowing three goals in four matches.
Conversely, Real Madrid’s offense has been borderline unstoppable. Karim Benzema is looking as on form as ever, already piling up 11 goal contributions. Meanwhile, his apprentice, Vinicius Jr., has five goals to his name as well.

Mallorca have surprised some teams, but the talent they have faced so far is not very impressive. They lost by a couple in their first real test against Bilbao, and I favor them to do the same against Real Madrid.
Pick: Real Madrid -1.5 (-125)
Villarreal vs Elche Prediction
Finally, the last match to cover in La Liga Matchday 6 is between Villarreal and Elche.
Europa League champions, Villarreal, have struggled immensely so far in La Liga. The Yellow Submarine has only been able to achieve four draws, scoring just two goals in the process, both against Atletico Madrid.

However, Elche have been poor themselves, as they sit on just six points with a game in hand. Villarreal are a good side, and I think Wednesday is where they turn it around and let the goals out, in a major victory.
Pick: Villarreal -1.5 (+175)
