Marseille on a Run of Impressive Form
Andre Villas-Boas’ side has been playing very well lately, going unbeaten in their last five matches. They’ll head into Lyon on Wednesday fresh off a 1-0 Ligue 1 victory over Toulouse on Saturday. Marseille is currently second in the French top flight, 12 points behind league leaders PSG.

Lyon Looking for Success in Another Cup
Although Lyon is currently ninth in Ligue 1, they’re preparing for a round of 16 clash with Juventus in late February in the Champions League. Their domestic form hasn’t been very consistent, but with just a four-point gap between ninth and fifth spot in France, Lyon still has an opportunity at the top four and qualification for next year’s Champions League campaign.
Rudi Garcia’s squad crashed out of the semifinals of last year’s Coupe de France to eventual winners Rennes, who upset PSG in the final en route to their third title in club history. If Lyon can secure a win on Wednesday, they’ll be in the semis for the second straight year.
Moussa Dembele and Memphis Depay form one of the most exhilarating partnerships in France, scoring 21 of Lyon’s 35 goals this term. Depay has missed a substantial amount of matches this year due to injury, but when he’s been available, the Dutch marksman has been deadly in the final third. However, it looks like he will miss the rest of the season after potentially tearing his ACL in December.
