Obama Congratulated 2015 Women’s World Cup Winners

As they left for the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada, the American team did so with the well wishes of then-President Barack Obama.

When the USA hammered Japan 5-2 in the 2015 WWC final, they received a congratulatory phone call from Obama.

Obama also invited the Women’s World Cup champions to the White House. And he hailed the diversity of the French men’s team that won the 2018 World Cup.

USA stars Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe have already announced if they win the World Cup and are invited to the White House by Trump, they won’t attend.

Trump hasn’t tweeted anything about the US women’s team on the eve of the current World Cup.

But he did remember to congratulate his buddy Vladimir Putin when Russia hosted the 2018 men’s World Cup.

Can Trump Squeeze It in Between Rounds of Golf?

That seems to be the only way to get Trump to show up to an event, if he can somehow work it around his busy schedule on the links.

He managed to find what was timed at 16 minutes to appear last Sunday at a church service in Virginia following last week’s deadly shooting there – coincidentally on the day that televangelist Franklin Graham asked people to say a prayer for Trump.

He appeared on stage at the church still wearing his golf hat and golf spikes. He’d just spent four-and-a-half hours playing a round at his golf course in nearby Sterling.

It’s been speculated that Trump will send a family member to represent him at the Women’s World Cup.

But if there’s a golf course near the World Cup stadium, who knows? There might be a chance that Trump shows up.
