Career in Focus
His career has taken him to the heights of club and international football; six steady seasons at Spanish side Sevilla established him in Europe, then earned him a move to giants Barcelona. It was with the Blaugrana that he entered the conversation for the top right back in the world, before transitioning into a Champions League mercenary with Juventus and Paris St-Germain over the past three years.
The Favorites
Of the favorites for Alves’ final destination, each has its perks.
China likely offers the most money, and is a proven lucrative opportunity for declining Euro-based players in their 30s.
Barcelona was where he spent the pinnacle of his career, and he still speaks fondly of the club.
At 36, with a boatload of international experience under his belt, he could also feel the time is right to return to Brazil and wind down the clock on his superlative career from the comfort of home.

With Alves rumored to be eyeing a move to the Premier League, Manchester City and their unmatched financial clout earn co-favorite status essentially by default.
One outsider to keep an eye on is Inter Milan, who have had a decent summer with the additions of veteran defender Diego Godin from Atletico and Valentino Lazaro from Hertha Berlin, at +600.
Next Club Prediction
With Alves having such a vast European resume, and accomplished virtually all one can on the continent, it’s likely time he ships out — either to China for a massive payday or back to South America to enjoy his well-earned golden years.
PICK: China (+400). Because Brazilians have a track record of being mercenaries and the dollar reigns supreme.
