RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt Preview

Leipzig’s win over Freiburg in last season’s final delivered them their first-ever major trophy, and it was the same opponents who they overcame in this year’s semifinal. No penalties were needed this time around, however, as they strolled to a very comfortable 5-1 win.

Despite having a slow start to the season under the management of Domenico Tedesco, a change of head coach made a massive difference to RB’s season. With Marco Rose now in charge, they have turned things around and have clinched a place in next season’s Champions League.

Seven Wins in Eight for Leipzig

Not only did Rose mastermind an overall turnaround in fortunes, he also oversaw an outstanding end of the season for Leipzig, who won seven of their last eight Bundesliga games. Since taking on the Leipzig reins, Rose has an outstanding 67.5 percent win ratio from his 40 games in charge.

Two Major Trophies for Eintracht?

These are exciting times for Frankfurt who will be hoping to add another major trophy to their collection after sensationally winning the Europa League in 2022. Under the coaching of Oliver Glasner, they sampled life in the Champions League this season and will be hoping to follow that up with a place in next season’s Europa League by winning this cup.

On the plus side, even if they don’t beat Leipzig, they have still guaranteed themselves a place in Europe next season – in the European Conference League – by clinching seventh place in the Bundesliga following a final-day victory over Freiburg.

Vital Win in Stuttgart

A concern for Frankfurt fans had been a major dip in form at the back end of the season – 10 games without a win – but their thrilling 3-2 win in Stuttgart has restored some belief and faith that had started to waver. It was also their first win away from home in 13 attempts.

Eintracht’s reliance on their fervent support at Deutsche Bank Park obviously won’t come into play on Saturday, but they will be relying on their fans making Berlin a noisy home from home for the day.

RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

Leipzig’s thrilling end to the season makes them big favorites here for a reason. Rose’s team is full of confidence and has that winning feeling in this competition after winning it 12 months ago.

For Frankfurt, this may be a step too far in what has been a difficult end to the campaign, and even at -140 there is value here in the RB win

Stuttgart vs Hamburger Picks: RB Leipzig to win (-140) / Under 2.5 goals (+115)
