Barcelona will be looking to lengthen their lead in second place in the La Liga table on Saturday as they travel to Seville to clash with Real Betis, who still have a chance at a Champions League spot. The kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET.

Barca got back to their winning ways on Matchday 34, securing a 2-1 victory against Mallorca thanks to goals from Memphis Depay and Sergio Busquets. Betis meanwhile, played to a scoreless draw with Getafe on Monday.

The reverse fixture in December saw Betis run out as 1-0 winners at Camp Nou, but the Catalans had won five in a row against their opponents prior to the defeat.

Real Betis vs Barcelona Prediction

Betis are enjoying a respectable campaign in 2021-22 and have already captured a piece of hardware, beating Valencia in penalties to lift the Copa del Rey trophy last month. They’re still well in the running for Europe’s most prestigious competition as well, sitting three points behind Atleti. A slip-up from the Madrid outfit and three points for Manuel Pelligrini’s side could put them into fourth by the end of the weekend.

Coming into Saturday, Betis have lost just once in their last nine outings, but there were a few draws nestled in between. Scoring goals is a problem lately though, failing to net in three straight La Liga games. Los Verdiblancos enjoyed 65% of the ball versus Getafe earlier in the week but struggled to produce in the final third, registering just four shots on target. Talisman Juanmi, who has 14 goals to his name, is currently in a rut, going five matches without finding the back of the net. They’ll need him to break out immediately.

After a breathtaking unbeaten run across the span of over two months, Barcelona’s form has started to dwindle lately. They were shockingly knocked out of Europa by Frankfurt in the quarterfinals, to the disappointment of many. Xavi’s men managed to grab a much-needed three points last Sunday at home against Mallorca, but it was only their second win in five games, also tasting defeat three times.

With four games left, Barca must continue to find positive results. Fourth place Atletico are just five points behind them, while Sevilla is right on their heels in third. Their form on the road is actually respectable, however, going 8-7-2. Also, the Spanish giants have dominated Betis over the years. Hopefully, that will come back into play on Saturday.

Real Betis vs Barcelona Pick

Despite Barca’s dismal play as of late, there is one reason, in particular, I can’t bet against them here. They’ve never lost both meetings in a top-flight campaign to Betis. That alone is exactly why the visitors will pull through. Plus, the hosts are toothless in front of the goal at the moment. Take the moneyline.

Pick: Barcelona +120
