Juventus vs Inter Milan Prediction

After losing 3-0 to AC Milan last week, followed up by a 3-1 win over Sassuolo in midweek, Juventus will now face the champions Inter Milan at 12:00 pm EST Saturday afternoon on Serie A Matchday 37.

Inter have already claimed the Scudetto and while there is nothing officially on the line for the Nerazzurri, they could take pleasure in planting a serious stake through the hearts of perrenial title-winners Juventus by taking three points from the Old Lady on Saturday.

Juventus still find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the top four even after Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Sassuolo. They sit one point back of Napoli for fourth and three back of AC Milan and Atalanta.

If you thought Inter would let up after claiming the title earlier this month, they’ve done the exact opposite with 5-0 and 3-1 wins over Sampdoria and Roma respectively.

Inter are now undefeated in an incredible 20 league games and Antonio Conte would love to see that streak continue til the end of the year. An Inter Milan outright win offers a great return, but given the price, backing the ‘double chance’ for a draw or Inter win looks like the best play. This Juventus side has been anything but reliable, and expecting them to show up simply because they “need to qualify for Champions League” just doesn’t seem to be the best play at this point.

In the Coppa Italia, it was Juventus who prevailed when these sides met this season as Juve won 2-1 and the two drew 0-0 in leg two. In Serie A, Inter won 2-0 back in January.

Inter has put up double-digit expected goals (xG) in each of their past five matches (2.9, 2.0, 2.0, 1.1, 2.5). Juventus meanwhile have recorded a double-digit xG in 16-straight. Against the odds, they were still winners over Sassuolo despite losing the xG battle 2.4-1.4. So alternatively, goals from both sides can also be expected.

Pick: Inter – Double Chance (-148)

Spezia vs Torino Prediction

Two teams who have almost done enough to save themsevles from relegation meet at 9:00 am EST Saturday morning in Serie A Matchday 37.

Each side sits on 35 points, four above 18th-place Benevento. Torino is coming off an embarrassing 7-0 defeat to AC Milan in midweek, while Spezia split the points with Sampdoria in a 2-2 draw.

Draws have been commonplace for these teams this season. Torino leads the league with 14, while Spezia is also in double figures at 11. Two other sides have 12 on the year, those being Fiorentina and Genoa.

These sides have only one all-time meeting which came earlier this year in a 0-0 draw.

A split of the points could in theory be satisfactory for each again on Saturday. Adding one point to their tallys would be enough to avoid relegation should Benevento lose or draw with Crotone on Sunday. A Benevento win, however, would put each of Spezia and Torino in relegation danger heading into the final round. Torino though, have the added assurance of an extra match still to be played, having only played 35 matches, compared to the 36 of others. So again, a single point would not be the worse outcome for El Toro.

A full-time draw could be in the cards, or even a scored draw as well. You could also back a half-time draw at +102. Spezia by far leads Serie A with being drawn at half-time, having done so on 24 occasions. The next closest is Fiorentina and Verona with 18 half-time draws. Torino has drawn 15 of their 35 matches at the half.

Pick: Draw & Both Teams to Score (+265)

Benevento vs Crotone Prediction

It’s all on the line for Benevento, currently sitting four points off from 17th-place Spezia entering Serie A Matchday 37. There’s nothing on the line for Crotone, but they’ve often been fiesty, even down the stretch, and would surely enjoy spoiling any hopes Benevento may have of salvation.

Crotone were unable to spoil Roma’s hopes of maintaining a spot in the top seven last weekend when they were routed 5-0. It was their eighth loss in nine and third time in four outings where they were kept off the scoresheet. Only a 4-3 win over Parma in April 21 had broken up the losses for Sersi Cosmi’s side. However, on Thursday, Crotone pulled off an unexpected 2-1 upset over Verona.

Benevento are in just as poor of form with just one win in their past 20 matches, which came nine rounds ago, oddly, against Juventus. But since that time they are 0-2-6 and have been outscored 21-10.

Crotone were 4-1 winners earlier this season, while last year when both were in Serie B, each won at home; Benevento 2-0 and Crotone 3-0. Across their past seven meetings across both leagues, home teams have now won seven straight.

There’s literally no reason for either team to hold back in this match. Benevento needs three points. In all likelihood both teams’ time in Serie A is coming to an end. Crotone have nearly set the all-time mark for most goals ever allowed in a Serie A season, yet for all their faults, they still have the league’s sixth-highest scorer in Simy.

I see goals and lots of them in this one.

Pick: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 (-120 at Bet365)
