Croatia vs France Prediction

In a rematch of the 2018 World Cup Final, Croatia and France meet in Split for an important fixture.

The Croatians got off to a dismal start to begin their Nations League journey, losing 3-0 to Austria on Friday in a very toothless performance. While their form prior to that defeat was respectable as they enjoyed a nine-game unbeaten run, Croatia hasn’t fared well against top-tier opponents in recent memory. Spain beat them in the Euro 2020 Round of 16 and the side also lost to England in the group stages.

France also struggled in their first Nations League game, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat against the high-flying Danes. In-form Karim Benzema put Les Bleus ahead in the 51st minute but Andreas Cornelius proceeded to score a brace in a span of just 20 minutes to stun the French. Didier Deschamps’ men had their fair share of chances too, they just couldn’t capitalize. Nevertheless, France still has the second-best World Cup odds at +550.

The visitors have won three straight against Croatia, with the last two coming in the Nations League. I like France on the moneyline, but there is also value in the over 2.5 goals at +105 because the previous three meetings easily hit the over.

Pick: France (-102), Over 2.5 Goals (+105)

Austria vs Denmark Prediction

Austria will be looking to spoil Denmark’s magnificent form on Monday in Wien. The Austrians will be feeling very confident after running riot on Croatia as Marko Arnautovic, Michael Gregoritsch, and Marcel Sabitzer all found the back of the net. Since they narrowly missed out on the World Cup in Qatar, Ralf Rangnick’s side is surely going to take this Nations League competition very seriously.

The Danish have looked very impressive over the last 12 months, cruising through World Cup Qualifying with 27 points of a possible 30, not losing until the final matchday against Scotland. Denmark continued their brilliance on Friday, shocking France. Cornelius came on as a substitute and made an immediate impact, putting away two goals in clinical fashion.

The Danes have notched three victories in a row against Austria. That being said, this is a no-brainer at plus odds.

Pick: Denmark +145

Iceland vs Albania Prediction

Iceland welcomes Albania to Reykjavik for a Group B2 encounter. The hosts got off to a respectable start to their Nations League campaign, playing to a 2-2 draw with Israel on Thursday. Thorir Helgason and Arnor Sigurdsson found the scoresheet for the Icelandic but they, unfortunately, conceded an equalizer late in the second half to settle for a point. That’s now seven consecutive games without a win.

Albania’s matchday 1 game was canceled because it was against Russia, which means The Eagles haven’t played since late March. That was a scoreless draw with Georgia and just days prior the Albanians suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spain. Edoardo Reja’s group put up a serious fight in World Cup Qualifying though, just narrowly missing out on a spot in the play-off after Poland finished two points above them in Group I.

The hosts are in very poor shape after such a promising few years between 2016 and 2018. But, Albania is without the services of two key attackers in Chelsea striker Armando Broja and Rey Manaj. I think both teams will take away a lone point in a hard-fought draw.

Pick: Draw +210
