Vancouver Whitecaps +210

Although five points separate the two in the standings, the odds aren’t lopsided by any means. LAFC sits at +110, while the Caps come in at +210 on home soil. A draw is priced at +270. Vancouver Whitecaps vs LAFC Preview

The Whitecaps aren’t off to the greatest start in league action, currently sitting in ninth in the West with just one win, two defeats, and three draws. However, they showed very well in the last round of the Champions League. The first leg is where Vanni Sartini’s side did the most damage, hammering Real Espana 5-0 at BC Place.

Vancouver was firing on all cylinders in the final third, with five different players finding the back of the net. The second leg resulted in a 3-2 defeat, but the Caps did more than enough to progress. This is just the second time in club history the Whitecaps have reached this stage of the competition. While LAFC is a difficult opponent, Sartini’s men will fancy their chances at home before the reverse tie in Southern California.

Los Angeles is making their presence felt in the MLS through five outings, occupying third in the conference with three wins and two draws. Denis Bouanga already has three goals to his name, while Carlos Vela is also doing his part with a goal and two assists.

Just like the Whitecaps, The Black and Gold took care of business in their first leg of the CCL in Costa Rica, securing a 3-0 victory before a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture. They’ve never won this competition but did make the final in 2020, ultimately losing to Mexican giants Tigres UANL.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs LAFC Prediction

Vancouver is in great form against LAFC being 3-2-1 (WDL) against them in their last six meetings. They also just thrashed Montreal 5-0 over the weekend (albeit with Montreal playing most of the game down a man), while the visitors settled for a scoreless draw with Colorado. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Caps take advantage in this first leg. But, a draw is also very possible, too. That’s why we’re looking at the double chance bet for our Vancouver Whitecaps vs LAFC prediction.

Pick: Whitecaps or Draw (-145)
