Villareal has certainly hit a run of good domestic form in Spain as it prepares to host Juventus in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday.
The La Liga outfit’s coach Unai Emery is, significantly, a four-time winner of the Europa League after Villareal’s triumph last May.
Now he is subsequently attempting to make an impact in Europe’s premier competition, although his side is among the outsiders to win the trophy.

Juventus, meanwhile, has drawn three of its last games in Italy’s Serie A and is well off the pace in the title race.

So it not highly fancied in the odds, although the suspicion is that it will be a tight affair.
However, it did top its group before Christmas with five wins from six fixtures – ahead of holders Chelsea despite a 4-0 hammering by the London club at Stamford Bridge.

At Barstool Sportsbook, the oddsmakers rate Villareal as the favorite for a home win, presumably based on the recent domestic form of both teams.
Meanwhile, Juventus is priced at +210 – with the draw an attractive proposition at +220.
The kick-off is at 3:00 pm ET.
Villareal Reached Its First European Final
Emery was in his first season in command when he led Villareal to its first European final last Spring.
On a markedly dramatic night in Gdansk, Poland, Villareal won 11-10 on penalties against Manchester United.

It was, accordingly, the coach’s fourth victory in the Europa League after he previously won three times with Sevilla.
Now his team is enjoying a good season in La Liga – currently sitting in sixth place.
It had spent much of the season in mid-table but has climbed towards the top following three wins and a draw in its last four outings.
During its current four-game unbeaten run, Villareal has conceded just once.
In keeping with Emery’s usual tactical discipline, Villareal is among the more solid defensive outfits in Spain – conceding 24 times in 25 games, the fourth-best figures in the competition.
During its current four-game unbeaten run, Villareal has conceded just once while keeping three straight clean sheets.

Meanwhile, its leading scorer Arnaut Danjuma certainly enjoyed a fine day in the team’s last outing.
He scored a hat-trick in the 4-1 away defeat of Granada, although two of the goals were penalties.

It took his tally for the season to 12 goals.
In the group stage, Villarreal was beaten home and away by Manchester United.
Crucial Group Stage Wins
But it doggedly secured second place thanks to home and away wins against Switzerland’s Young Boys.
Furthermore, an impressive 3-2 away against Italy’s Atalanta on Matchday Six secured the team’s last 16 spot.
On that evening, Danjuma was the two-goal hero for his side.
At +500, Barstool’s odds for Danjuma to be the first name on the scoresheet on Tuesday are certainly very attractive.

For Juventus, meanwhile, the return this season of former coach Massimiliano Allegri has not been hugely successful.
During his first spell in charge, Juventus won five straight titles between 2014 and 2019. It also reached two Champions League finals in 2015 and 2017.
Juve On 12-Match Unbeaten League Run
Although it has drawn three of its last four Serie A games, the side is currently on a 12-match unbeaten league run.
However, five of those games have been drawn with seven wins.

The club has been boosted by the signing last month of the much-coveted Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who arrived from Fiorentina for $100 million.
He scored on his debut in the side’s most recent Serie A victory – a 2-0 defeat of Verona on February 6.
It drew 1-1 at home against Torino in the Turin derby last weekend.

The Argentine, Paolo Dybala, is the leading goal-getter in all competitions with a tally of 12.
Juventus has exited the UCL at the last 16 stage in the past two seasons.
At +750, the odds for Dybala to score the first goal are also compelling.
But it was defensive prowess that was the main plank of its success in the group stage – that defeat by Chelsea aside – with the team registering four clean sheets among its five wins.

Juventus has exited the UCL at the last 16 stage in the past two seasons and will be keen to build on its group stage success and progress further this time around.
It will, however, face a stubborn and dogged opponent in Spain.
So, in conclusion, a draw looks likely here with the odds for Villareal’s Danjuma to open the scoring looking a good proposition.
