The final are set and ready to go in Vienna, as Denis Shapovalov and Borna Coric go head-to-head tomorrow at 9:30am ET.

The two are no stranger to one another, as they just faced each other at the beginning of the month. The Canadian captured that win, so Coric will be looking to avenge that loss and extend his head-to-head record against Shapovalov.

Shapovalov Shuts Down Dan Evans

It was Shapovalov that got the best of Evans earlier today, to snatch up a spot in the semifinals of the Vienna Open. The Canadian has had a strong showing at the tournament this past week, having yet to drop a single set, and end fourth seed, Taylor Fritz run, but it was his quarterfinal match that’s been the most impressive.

On route to his quarterfinal win, he managed to record seven aces, convert three of 16 break points, and went onto win 86 percent of his first serves.

He’ll now go up against Coric, who he beat just a few weeks ago at the Japan Open.

Coric Continues to Upset

After his first match was cancelled, Coric opened up his tournament against Quentin Halys of France. From there he went onto upset Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 16, and most recently Hubert Hurkacz in the quarterfinals.

In a quarterfinal match that should’ve gone the other way, Coric found a way to come out on top, defeating his opponent 6-4, 7(7)-6(2), 7(7)-6(5). Despite Hurkacz’s 28 aces and 81 win percentage on his first serves, Coric managed to fend him off and earn a spot in the semifinals.

Fourth Career Meeting

This will be the fourth career meeting, and second meeting of 2022 for Shapovalov and Coric. The two faced each other for the first time back in 2018, where Coric won, and their most recent match was earlier this year where Shapovalov won.

Their current head-to-head is 2-1 in favor of Coric.

Shapovalov vs Coric Pick

This looks like a match that could go either way. Both players are playing solid tennis, that have earned them wins while they were the underdog.

Both players have been playing strong from the back court, and have had an impressive serve all week. Look for this to be a close match, with a lot of back and forth.

Given that Coric has had all his matches this week go the distance, and Shapovalov has seen one of his three, expect for this one to do the same. And look for that to be the best best of the semifinal match.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+105)
